Happy Halloween

October 30th, 2008 by John Wolfe

I’d like to wish all of you a Happy Halloween! I won’t be online tomorrow, so I thought I’d post this entry a little early. I’m also including pictures of my finished prop. This guy took a total of about five weeks to complete, in between working on many other Halloween related projects. This corpse is the only new addition this year, but it was a great learning experience. I worked really hard on trying to artistically interpret the human anatomy, more so on this prop than any of my previous corpses.

Some great anatomy books came in very handy on this project, along with trying to recall some anatomy courses I took a few years ago. While the texture is still exaggerated and not completely true to the human anatomical structure, this prop definitely represents the direction I’ll be taking my haunt and my corpses for next year.

So, please keep checking back as Season of Shadows is going to full-on celebrate Halloween throughout the year, with more consistent Halloween blog updates and prop work. Thanks for your continued support and have a safe, spooky Halloween!

Black Cat

October 28th, 2008 by John Wolfe

A couple of weeks ago, Johnny of Through the Patch posted a photo of a black cat slipping through his pumpkin patch. I couldn’t resist grabbing a similar shot; the only difference – his was natural, mine was coaxed. Spooky (that’s his name, honest) wasn’t initially interested in posing by the pumpkin, but rolling his favorite ball near the gourd provided some inspiration. I’ve never seen a cat marked quite like Spooky, with the unique blend of dark gray bands and black throughout his coat.
