Jack-O-Lantern Snowman

December 31st, 2008 by John Wolfe

One week ago, I posted a “Halloweenie” themed Christmas entry. In continuing with that concept and officially finishing up the winter holidays – I present the jack-o-lantern snowman. This guy would look great with a solitary candle flitting and flickering through the eyes, mouth and nose of that pumpkin head, in the midst of a gigantic snowstorm.

I wish everyone a fantastic New Year! May 2009 bring all of your hopes and dreams to reality, and also provide you with a very spooky Halloween. The 31st falls on a Saturday this year, so that is going to be very awesome!

Bat Flights

December 31st, 2008 by John Wolfe

Right here, in the state of New Mexico, exists one of the coolest, naturally based Halloween attractions on the planet – bats, bats and more bats! And most people think all we have to offer is a few little “green” men from Roswell. :) Carlsbad Caverns, in the southern part of the state, provides summertime shelter to almost 400,000 Brazilian free-tail bats. Every night, near dusk, from April through mid October, the bats make their ascension out of the cave and into the night sky.

I’ve been to the caverns, but have yet to catch an actual bat flight.
