The King for Halloween

January 31st, 2009 by John Wolfe

No, not that king (Elvis) – the other one. :) Not that I would ever dress up in anything less than the undead, but I had to post this for the sheer fact I’m probably one of the few Americans who actually likes this character’s role in BK’s ad campaigns. He’s got a bizarre, creepy style that’s right up my alley. I especially enjoyed the commercial which featured him being chased by the police for the reverse pick pocket. That’s the one where he puts money back in people’s pockets.

There’s only one major problem (for me) with BK and places like it – I’m a vegetarian, and I no longer support organizations whose prime source of revenue comes from the selling of meat. But, I can admire their kooky commercials. I’ve yet to actually see anyone wearing this mask for Halloween – maybe I should order one and corpse him up with paper mache!

The Halloween Nest of ShellHawk

January 29th, 2009 by John Wolfe

ShellHawk’s Nest is a blog I’ve become aware of thanks to the author’s participation at Season of Shadows and thanks to SpookyBlue. I’ve been wanting to spend some time in the “nest” for a while now, but haven’t had a chance. Today presented one of my first opportunities to peruse her site and I’m happy I did. She’s a woman after my own heart for three reasons: her blog explores many aspects of Halloween, she’s a talented artist and her writing style has a very cathartic, spiritual quality to it. Those of you that know about my other site, Wind of the Soul, understand why I’m drawn to authors and bloggers with that specific writing forte.

ShellHawk’s Nest is a quality Halloween blog and I look forward to seeing it continue to develop and unfold.
