The Ghosts of Halloween Future

May 27th, 2009 by John Wolfe

I came across this cool ghostly creation at John Rozum’s site today. I wish I knew who created the image, but John didn’t have any information on the artist. This type of imagery along with our recent experiences with paranormal voices has inspired me to make some changes to my Halloween yard haunt. While I’ll probably still continue with the zombie theme for the fourth year in a row, next Halloween I’d like to go with an all ghost theme sans the skulls and bones.

EVP Video Update

May 24th, 2009 by John Wolfe

Just a quick update regarding my progress on the latest spirit voice (EVP) video: Rather than making two installments for the last two weeks, I’ve decided to combine the best captures from two outings into a single video. So, it’s going to be a little longer before there’s a new upload. While we are finding a lot of disembodied voices leaving us messages, the majority are soft whispers. As this series continues, I’d prefer to only present the highest quality captures and it takes a lot of time to sort through our findings.

On a related note – the photo used in this entry came from a promotional item for the 2005 film, “White Noise.” I absolutely love the image, but didn’t enjoy the movie. Though the premise was great, the phenomena was given the typical Hollywood horror treatment.

Movies about ghosts and the supernatural are usually ruined by writers’ and directors’ incessant need to associate a large portion of the phenomena with evil and the like. I guess that’s what entertains some people; it’s a shame, because our findings show these voices have nothing to do with horror or so called evil. They appear to simply be human beings without bodies, reaching out to a world that refuses to accept them into its current paradigm.
