Haunting Poetry

December 26th, 2009 by John Wolfe

Once again, I’m revisiting You Tube user, bonbichie’s haunting work. Several of his collaborative artistic endeavors have such a beautifully dark, ambient feel to them. This particular piece is concrete enough to set a spooky mood, but still abstract enough to allow the viewer to interpret its meaning in his or her own way.

Plus, he features several shots of a cornfield and if you’ve seen my 2007 and 2008 Halloween haunt images, then you already know I’m a sucker for cornstalks. :)

“Scary” Toys

December 24th, 2009 by John Wolfe

Considering, in just a few short hours, a lot of kids will be ripping into their presents, hoping cool toys await them beneath each and every piece of ribbon and wrapping paper; I wanted to feature some of my favorite childhood toys. As you may have already guessed, I was partial to playthings of the “scary” or “spooky” variety.

I owned one of the toys from the following retro commercials: “I Vant to Bite Your Finger.” The rest were on my wish list, but never quite made it under the tree. This wasn’t really “Santa’s” fault, but instead was due to the fact I always padded my list quite full of wants. Santa’s helpers had to audit that list down to a more manageable task nearly every Christmas. :)
