Almost Autumn
September 18th, 2010 by John WolfeOur weather’s been a bit indecisive lately. It can’t seem to decide if it wants to hang onto summer or yield to fall’s arrival — now less than five days away! With our highs performing more yo-yo tricks than Tommy Smothers (I must be getting old to throw out a Yo-Yo Man reference), I thought I’d try and encourage fall to kick back, relax and stay for a while with some autumnal vid action.

I know exactly what you mean. Here in Ohio, it’s been on and off for a while now. Yesterday it was a cool, breezy mid and low 70s. Today – mid 80s. It’s so frustrating, especially for people like us who thrive on the fall season. Hopefully this just means the good weather will be around longer into November.

We’re very similar, Doug, except we keep going back and forth between the low 80s and mid 90s. I turned the A/C on again today cause we’re hitting 93. I’m with you on November hopefully making up for it.

I so want to teleport there!!! It was about 107 today with a “cooling” trend next week of 99! Wahoo. I hate the desert!! I will have to make a trip to the mountains in the fall but every time I do that, all I can think about is how I have to leave in a day or two. Sigh…

Wonderful images, but the music made me very sleepy. We are getting some nice weather here also. It is getting down into the 60s at night and 80s in the day. I just want it to keep dropping. I am so glad to anounce that school is out for two weeks and that I survived finals! Woohoo!

autumnforest,
I feel for you. Your 107 makes my 93 seem like 73. Though Albuquerque’s not anywhere close to having a New England-like fall, it’s definitely not close to having the Sahara-like fall Phoenix is known for either. Ooh, getting away to the mountains sounds like a plan! Though I live just a few miles from the Sandia mountains, I haven’t been to the crest in years. You’ve inspired me — I gotta get back up there one of these days.
Ethan,
Glad to hear your weather is getting in the Halloween spirit.
Congrats on making it through finals! Enjoy your well-deserved vacation.

Nice….it started raining right after Labor Day here. Makes for slow paint drying but cooler weather
Looking forward to fall, just not quite yet, the crew hates setting up in the rain. Maybe if I show them this nice calming video before we head out
Cheers!

My all time favorite time of year!!! Ever since I was a tiny little thing, I always remember being very passionate about the Fall season. It has such a huge impact on me all the way around and it just always felt like I was home again. John, this is a beautiful video! You know how badly I needed that didn’t you? Your a dear friend, this was a delightful video and I’m going to share it with Mom when she gets home in, hopefully, a couple more days!!!
We lucked out this year for summer. We usually have 30+ 100 degree days and this year we barely had 3 days out of all summer. Funny thing was, last night while I was watering the garden, it started to rain on me out of nowhere!!! I needed the emotional cleansing so I danced around like a little girl in the rain enjoying every minute of it. I’m sure the neighbors around here thought I have serious mental issues. LoL….I had a blast. Our highs are the low 80′s and and low for the night/am is around 50 degrees or so. Perfect weather and when things calm down this week, I’m gonna make a trip to the OCC and do some EVP work and just be still, just be one…….it’s such a peaceful cemetery.
I hope your doing better and your eyes have rested more. I hope you go in soon and have those browns checked out. Things change as we age so just a good idea to have them looked at. Anything I can do to help, just let me know.

The Frog Queen,
Sorry to hear what the rain does to your paint process, but I’m happy you guys are getting moisture. We’ve been dry as a bone for weeks again. Hope the vid helps center your crew a bit.
I love spooky stuff, but there’s also a very spiritual side of me that comes out in relation to autumn. I’m probably not saying anything new, though, since my posting vids like this already gives away my eclectic Halloween tastes.
Thanks so much for your comment and for watching. Glad you enjoyed the video.
Goldie,
Awesome! Glad to hear it. I can’t wait for you to show it to your mom, cause I know what that will mean on so many different levels! You guys did have a cooler summer, didn’t you? I think we traded weather with you, as our temps usually don’t go over one-hundred more than three or four times in the summer. This year, we went over one-hundred many times.
Talk about catching things on video, your dance in the garden, in the rain, would have been one to see!
Please, let me know how your EVP session goes.
I’m doing well. Thank you so much for asking. My eyes are still feeling strained, but I know it’s from all the detail work I’m doing. I’ll give them a little rest after Halloween.
