Ben & Jerry’s Halloween

November 21st, 2008 by John Wolfe

The ice cream kings have devoted a section of their website entirely to Halloween. The flavor graveyard lets you explore and potentially resurrect flavors that have departed. You can click on the mausoleum, to check out old “dead” pints or take a tour through the haunted house. The foyer of the haunted house provides you with additional doors, some leading to rooms, while a couple lead to old movie clips – such as Night of the Living Dead and Nosferatu. Of course, Night of the Living Dead features the classic, “They’re coming to get you Barbara” scene. This isn’t creepy stuff, rather a light hearted, but fun stroll through All Hallow’s Eve, Ben & Jerry Style.

LoL…now I’ve seen it all! Between Halloween Goblin Nog and NOW ghostly flavored ice cream….John, how do you find this stuff. Ok, so what flavor stands out to you??? I’m curious, what would “economic crunch” TASTE like? Yes I know, we’re “tasting” that now thanks to the govt ;-) Now the White Russian would have my vote since it’s a yummy drink to have on a cold winter night. My Grammy made a mean White Russian! Or what about the Bovinity Divinity??? Hmmm?

That’s a cool webpage design as well. It felt very 3D and I love the amount of color used for that page. Very cool. Sort of reminds me of the Jelly Belly Jellybeans. The huge assortment of flavors they have are astounding. Moreover, if the description says, “pizza” flavored jelly bean, it usually is. I think they only bean I’ve tried that was off slightly was the popcorn jelly belly, yuck! Ooooo but their cinamon beans, yikes, so damn hot it’s hard to keep in the mouth but taste and feels so good you don’t dare spit it out ;-) Lastly, I’ll have you know to this day, T STILL asks to play “scarecrows” as she puts it. In fact she chooses the scarecrow game over her Dora the Explorer game ;-) Kids these days……great find John!

It takes a lot of searching to locate it. :) As far as flavors, I’d have to go back and look through the site, with their variety – it’s hard to choose just one. I’ve always been partial to the Grateful Dead, so Cherry Garcia would have to be in there somewhere.

I love their site, but my favorite part was the Night of the Living Dead clip, tucked away in the foyer of the Haunted House!

Thanks for the advice on the cinnamon bean, I’m definitely going to look for that one.

“T” is in good company. I always try and find a few minutes to get in a game of Scarecrows too!
