Black Cat
October 28th, 2008 by John Wolfe
A couple of weeks ago, Johnny of Through the Patch posted a photo of a black cat slipping through his pumpkin patch. I couldn’t resist grabbing a similar shot; the only difference – his was natural, mine was coaxed. Spooky (that’s his name, honest) wasn’t initially interested in posing by the pumpkin, but rolling his favorite ball near the gourd provided some inspiration. I’ve never seen a cat marked quite like Spooky, with the unique blend of dark gray bands and black throughout his coat.

Spooky is a gorgeous cat! I’m impressed with it’s built in warm gray “scarf” around it’s neck
To this day, I have never seen a cat, or any animal for that matter, that has it’s own “wrap-around.” Plus I like the contrast of the colors on Spooky. Very pretty cat and good thinking for having him pose by the pumpkin. Sneaky indeed
Ok, give it up, WHO named him?

At least you can actually see the cat in this pic.

What a beautiful cat. I have a black cat too but mine is much more…round. I tried to snag a picture of mine yesterday but I wasnt quite fast enough with the camera. I’ll have to try again because I love these black cat photos.

Goldie,
I know! I’ve never seen anything quite like that either. His scarf reminds me of a lion’s mane. I want to pet him so badly, but he’s really timid. Getting him next to the pumpkin was interesting, until I decided to try the ball. He couldn’t resist it. I think you know who named him.
Johnny,
I could sort of see it in your photo, well at least I could tell what color he was.
Splatter,
Glad you like Spooky. Watching him (along with his brothers and sisters) playing in the yard (they were a litter of strays) is a blast!
