Body Parts of Bread

While I normally don’t feature anything too gruesome on SOS, this video really captured my imagination and inspired me. It’s not that the imagery itself is gruesome, but the idea of eating the finished product could be.

Either way, the Halloween corpse builder in me finds it fascinating to see a talented artist replicating human body parts from such an interesting medium. Talk about your “Bread of the Dead” (a traditional treat from Day of the Dead celebrations)!

Of course, there’s a perfect pun I can’t resist for this entry: “Night of the Living Bread.” :D I’m off to the workshop, now — hope you enjoy the video.

    I am fascinated beyond belief! That’s amazing artistry and also, well…creepy! I make an alien autopsy cake at Halloween, but it’s nothing compared to what this guy does.

    Wow, that’s BREAD?? As I was sitting here watching the video I couldn’t help wonder what it would taste like warmed and smeared with real butter. You and your food postings ;-) I would have never guessed in a million years that I was looking at bread; it looks more like props for Universal Studios. His work is mind boggling and I loved how the little kids went running when he came in with a tray of warm body parts. Those bread loaves would be a huge hit at a Halloween party. I think I would enjoy eating the arm with the attached hand and fingers. Then again, biting the nose off of the face would be strange too…..LoL.

    I’ve got to send this one out to my folks, they’ll get a big kick out of it. I’m not sure how on earth you found this video but I’m sure thankful that you have a knack for finding highly unusual videos. Great posting dear friend and thank you for your time, as always ;-)

    OMG…I woke this morning to massive internet and tv buzzing about a movie just released called “Paranormal Activity” and it’s freaking everyone out. Have you seen the trailer for it? Holy shit, I jumped twice off this couch at work. There’s a part of me that almost wants to see it during the daylight but after seeing the trailer again………I’m having second thoughts. I thought in the spirit of Halloween, this would be a great movie to watch BUT…..there were reports this morning of people actually running OUT of the movie because it’s freaked them out so badly. What I do like about it is that there is NO blood and gore…………it’s that down to your bone freaky ass scary movie of the things you cannot see that peaks my interest………then again, maybe not so much.

    If you haven’t seen the trailer, dude, you gotta check it out and let me know what you think.

    Based on the cake you described to me sometime ago, I kinda guessed you would like this video! I’m curious as to how he creates it from start to finish. I’m wondering if there is a mold of some sort he has made for each body part. I would love to see a more in-depth video of the entire creative process. Imagine eating on one of these while sipping from that IV bag, all while walking down a busy street!

    I saw some very early trailers for “Paranormal Activity” (at least I think it was for the film) several months ago, but haven’t seen anything recently. After Halloween, I am going to check out as much as I can on it. Thanks for reminding me.
