Dark Ambiance 10

July 19th, 2010 by John Wolfe

It’s been a while since I’ve added an installment to my Dark Ambiance series of posts, so to dust off the cobwebs, here’s a vid with some hauntingly beautiful imagery and voices. The music is from Interview With The Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles, but I sure wouldn’t have known that had it not been for the vid’s description. Though it’s going on sixteen-years since I last saw that movie, I’m suddenly very curious about listening to the rest of the soundtrack.

Creepy Pixelvision Cemetery

July 2nd, 2010 by John Wolfe

Today’s vid entry features Greenwood Cemetery in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Aside from the location’s age (Greenwood was established between 1849 and 1852), what I found most interesting about this footage was the manner in which it was filmed. YT user, spear913 shot the entire thing with a 1980′s toy video camera.

The PXL-2000 (also known as a Pixelvision camera) was manufactured by Fisher-Price and used compact audio cassettes for its recording medium. The result is a grainy, black and white image that’s perfect for making anything look extra spooky!
