Zombie Scare Prank

As a little kid I was frequently the recipient of pranks being pulled by a couple of legendary pranksters–my uncle and grandpa. Once I grew old enough to turn the tables, becoming quite creative with my own pranks, they weren’t happy about spending time with me anymore. Combining scary stuff and practical jokes is right up my alley, no wonder today’s vid grabbed my attention immediately!

Now, a great zombie prank and funny reaction aside, I hope these guys didn’t do anything to harm the grounds of the cemetery ’cause that’s definitely not cool. When Michael Fox says, “…me and Steven are covering up Jason, here in this old grave,” I’m hoping he meant “grave.” It appears that they didn’t do anything to desecrate the location and they simply laid Jason down in a depression, covering him up with leaves.

Halloween Trash Can Scares

When it comes to scaring trick-or-treaters via pneumatic and animated props, you can’t go wrong with the infamous “Trash Can Trauma.” My first online encounter with TCT dates back to October of 1996 or ’97, when I came across plans for building this “trashy” scare. Back then, most haunters were loading a ghoul or skeleton body inside the container.

When the prop was activated, it looked as if the monster was springing forth from beneath the lid. However, it appears that YT user, edwashy chose to nix the body in his version and instead, went with a simple light and audio track.

You can see by the video that the effect still worked extremely well, due in part to great timing and an explosive action on the lid of the can.
