Some news anchors are surprised by the “Halloween spirit” in these two clips. I’ve yet to see this happen on my local stations, but I’d gladly be the first to do it… Channel 2, 7, 13 and 4, you know how to get a hold of me come next October.
Yesterday was the witch, today it’s a “ghost’s” turn to elicit some funny responses. I have no clue what’s being said in this video, but from what I can surmise the three men (the victims) think they’re being hired for some sort of nightly duty at a cemetery.
This clip reminds me of something my great grandfather did many, many years ago. He and several other men were working in some capacity with coffins and a cemetery. I can’t recall if they were building the coffins or what, but this all took place outside by the graveyard.
They were taking a break near an empty, above ground coffin, when one of the guys decided to climb inside and have a little fun with a fellow co-worker — who I’ll call Jerry. Jerry joined the group (after the man had climbed inside), and a few minutes later the coffin began to shake.
All of a sudden, the man burst out from beneath the lid moaning and groaning. Jerry didn’t stick around to see who or what was coming out. He was up in a flash and running as fast as he could through the adjacent field, in the process tearing down several fences along the way!
My grandfather, who has told me this story (about his dad), swears they had to send out a man on horseback to chase Jerry down and rope him to get him stopped. Now that’s pretty extreme!
