Transworld Halloween Show

March 16th, 2010 by John Wolfe

The annual Transworld Halloween and Attractions Show is just around the corner (March 25-28, 2010), and since I won’t be attending, I thought I’d live vicariously through the vids in today’s entry. Considering how excited I get walking into Spirit Halloween, I’d probably act like a slobbering lunatic at a Halloween show the scope of Transworld. And on that attractive note, do I hear anyone volunteering to attend with me? ;)

One day, I vow to make it to St. Louis and take in this awesome collection of haunt paraphernalia. In the meantime…

This first installment is pretty much a promo for Transworld, but it does give you a little back-story on the show via interviews with several exhibitors:

Up next is the show from a visitor’s perspective. This entire vid is great, but my favorite part is the last segment, beginning at the four-minute mark–that’s where “ScareFactory’s” stuff starts; keep an eye out for The Angel of Death:

Haunted Mansion Turns 40

January 4th, 2010 by John Wolfe

I’m at least four days past due in recognizing the Haunted Mansion’s 40th year, but better late than never. 2009 marked four decades of etheric living for the 999 Happy Haunts inhabiting the attraction. Yet amazingly, they still haven’t made good on making room for that last ghost to bring it to an even one thousand. :)

While I’ve never been a visitor of the mansion, I’ve soaked up so many photos and videos throughout the years that I feel as if I have been inside its hallowed halls.

This vid provides some early footage of Walt and the Haunted Mansion’s “Imagineers,” along with a modern re-telling of some of the attraction’s history:
