It’s a sure bet I’ll be watching this prior to working on the Angel of Death prop tomorrow–speaking of which, I’ve finally been giving him some attention again. I hope to have an update posted in the next week or two.

On another note, I’d like to congratulate Andrea of Collinsville, Oklahoma and Gene Savage, also of Collinsville, Oklahoma. They each won a packet of Zombie Blood. I was amazed when Andrea and Gene responded with their shipping info and both happen to live in Collinsville! I guess The Sooner State was hungry for zombie blood.

It’s my opinion that no matter how hard Hollywood tries, despite all its current special effects technology, it will never create a vampire as freaky or imposing as Nosferatu. If you’re interested in watching the entire film (with an older musical score), you can do so via this player:

I still haven’t caught “Twilight fever,” but I continue to be fascinated by the author, Stephenie Meyer. I love her description of how the concept for the story first appeared to her in a vivid dream. It’s very similar to how Mary Shelley was said to have found her inspiration for Frankenstein during a dream. Plus, I just love success stories and Stephenie and the Twilight series absolutely represent that in a gargantuan way!

Blood Energy Potion that is. While I’ve yet to try the stuff, I’ll certainly be keeping my eyes open for it after it becomes available (January 2010). It’s currently in pre-order from Urban Collector.

Blood Energy Potion is said to be the world’s first synthetic blood beverage because of a similar nutritional profile to the “real thing.”

The flavoring is fruit punch and the drink has the same color, look and consistency of blood. With vampire fever hitting a new high, thanks to programming like True Blood and books/films like Twilight, I suppose synthetic blood beverages were inevitable.

I really love the packaging on this product. Imagine walking down a busy street while drinking from an IV bag! That would be a head turner.

As of this past Halloween, there were no official costumes released for the hit film, Twilight. But that’s probably a good thing, when you consider most homemade costumes and Halloween props are typically superior to the “quickies” found at retail shops. So, for you Twilight fans, who still want to rock the look, despite Halloween being over, may I suggest this hub article at the Twilight Lexicon Blog, and this post from the L.A. Times. Both sites feature great tips for achieving a look similar to the characters from the film.

Personally, I’m not into vampires and haven’t seen the movie, but I can appreciate and applaud the concept, along with the hard work and success of the author – Stephenie Meyer. The original book idea came to her in an extremely vivid dream!
