Clean Up Day
November 2nd, 2008 by John Wolfe
During the first few days of November, I can’t help but always feel a tinge of post Halloween malaise. I guess it’s only natural, after spending weeks of intense Halloween prep, to feel as if the winds have been slightly let out of my sail. On the positive side, I’m so looking forward to starting my prop work for Halloween ’09 and beginning a re-design of SOS. The site will still look the same aesthetically, but I’ll be doing some work with design as it pertains to browser compatibility.
So, with the closing of each box lid, I’ve once again said goodbye to most of my Halloween decorations. The jack-o-lanterns have been bagged up, the fog machines cleaned out and the leaves raked and removed from the yard. Good thing I can still hang out with my corpses in the garage or else I might truly have withdrawals.

LoL, withdrawls indeed my friend! Your feelings about closing those lids reminds me MUCH of what many people go through after Christmas. Much of Nov/Dec is planned and prepared for that one day on so many levels and humans are running around as busy as a worker bee. However, come the day after or the 2-3rd day after, most slowly put away the decorations, the colorful lights, the smell of pine in the house and do clean up detail of the festivities. There lingers the mood of….saddness, boredom and dare I say depression for some. Now great thing in your case is that your surrounded by so much Halloween props, that you never really close the lid on those boxes. Rather you leave them off all year round…so to speak so you must be rather excited to have some solid ideas in mind for your props for ’09 which I’m certain will be unlike anything you’ve ever done before. I pray all goes well in our country and we can all see and celebrate Halloween in 2009
Off note: I’m looking forward to seeing your last video to the Haunter’s Reality series. I’ve really enjoyed the videos John, awesome work my friend!
Many Blessings, Goldie~*~

I feel ya. I get the same way. So much rushing and excitement getting ready for the big night and then before you know it, its over and time to pack it all up before the neighbors REALLY begin to wonder about you.

Goldie,
That’s very true! Halloween is a part of my life on a daily basis, because I still find some of my decor in the garage or in my room. Maybe that’s why so many leave Christmas lights on there house year ’round. The lights still provide them with a warm feeling pertaining to the holiday they enjoy so much.
About the next installment in the Haunter’s Reality videos: No one in my family dressed up! They were extremely helpful, but they didn’t provide any scares for me to get on video. And, I was so busy maintaining four fog machines, talking to parents and taking photos and video of the props, that I didn’t even get to put a mask on. The video will still be out in a few weeks, but I didn’t get any of the scares I was hoping to include.
Splatter,
Exactly! I’ve often contemplated setting my props out in the yard in the middle of May. After all, they have Christmas in July sales/specials. Why not Halloween in May? The neighbors already wonder about me anyway…lol.
