Dark Ambiance 3
January 12th, 2009 by John Wolfe
In continuing with my installments of dark, Gothic, atmospheric imagery, I came across this awesome knotty gate photo on “Flickr.” I love how the trees seem to naturally mimic the metal work of the gate. Images such as this remind me of locations in Europe. I lived in Germany for almost two years and always have flashbacks to the castles and quaint old villages when coming across this style of photography.
Creepy settings, such as this, give me that warm cozy feeling of reading a book next to a roaring fire, all while sipping hot chocolate – I know I’m strange, but that’s what you get when you spend the majority of your childhood fascinated with ghosts and Halloween.
A big thanks to Cosmonautirussi for this amazing image.

Hi! – I am the author – cosmonautirussi. I just would like to thank you for your nice words. As an addition: This shot has been taken in the city where the old classic film Nosferatu comes from. – Keep on searching for moody places! – I am happy that you discovered: a very knotty gate!
