Darklore Manor

August 15th, 2009 by John Wolfe

The Darklore Manor Giveaway has closed. Congratulations to Autumnforest of Phoenix, Arizona, David Hurst of Georgia and Ethan Black of Tennessee! And thanks to everyone else who participated.

In bringing forth the next round of giveaways during the countdown to Halloween, we have the sinister musical stylings of Nox Arcana. “Darklore Manor” represents their initial venture and is perhaps one of their most phenomenal projects. While Darklore consists of a shadowy, ambient soundscape, you won’t find harsh industrial screeching within “its” walls. Instead, the mood is set through creepy, yet classical elegance.

Interaction with the mansion’s ghostly inhabitants and creatures of the night are brought to life through haunting chants, spooky vocalizations, and orchestral arrangements. If you’re more of an atmospheric haunter/Halloween enthusiast than a gore aficionado, Darklore Manor will easily cast a spell on you while captivating your imagination.

Dark ambient music has become a staple during my prop work and is featured throughout my yard haunt on Halloween night. I will typically take several albums and pull my favorite tracks, then mix them together on a single disc.

If you’re not already playing Nox Arcana during your own artistic endeavors, in your haunt or at your Halloween party; I have a feeling you will be after sampling their work. Portions of Darklore Manor can be heard for free at Amazon.

This giveaway includes three brand new Darklore Manor CD’s to be presented to three separate winners. If you’ve already entered A Haunting drawing, that’s quite alright. You’re more than welcome to enter this one as well, but only one entry per household still applies. All guidelines for entering can be found below. Upon entering, all I ask in return is that you take a few moments to recommend this post to others, whether it’s via your own blog, Twitter, Facebook, MySpace account, etc.

If you don’t have a blog or an account with a social networking site, then please consider e-mailing this link to friends or post it on a Halloween or paranormal message board. I would really appreciate the support.

Guidelines for Entering

Please, only one entry per household. Duplicate entries from the same IP will be deleted. This helps to make it fairer for everyone. There’s no catch here, everything is free – including payment of shipping and handling for “Darklore Manor” – I cover all costs. To be entered, leave a comment below, signifying your interest.

Depending upon the volume of entries, comments may only be displayed under this post for a short time. As entries grow, I may remove comments from the post to make it easier for visitors to scroll to the comment box and enter.

When leaving a comment, be sure to include your correct email address and be certain to keep track of your spam or bulk folder after the drawing closes. Each winner of Darklore Manor will be contacted through the e-mail address that’s registered with their comment. I will never share addresses, provided by entrants, with any third parties and you’ll never receive unsolicited mail when entering.

The Darklore Manor contest will end at 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on October 8th, 2009. All legitimate entries will then be assigned a number. Three numbers will be randomly drawn to determine the winners.

All winners will then be notified, via the email addresses they provided, no later than October 10th. It’s my goal to get the CD’s to the winners as quickly as possible, prior to Halloween. If one, or all three don’t respond (with their shipping information) within a week, then one (two, or three) more number(s) will be drawn to determine the new winner(s). Upon receiving their permission, the winners’ names will be featured at the top of this post.

If you would like to see your Halloween or paranormal website or business promoted through SOS and you have some appropriately themed items to distribute, please contact me.
