Drink Some Blood
September 27th, 2009 by John Wolfe
Blood Energy Potion that is. While I’ve yet to try the stuff, I’ll certainly be keeping my eyes open for it after it becomes available (January 2010). It’s currently in pre-order from Urban Collector.
Blood Energy Potion is said to be the world’s first synthetic blood beverage because of a similar nutritional profile to the “real thing.”
The flavoring is fruit punch and the drink has the same color, look and consistency of blood. With vampire fever hitting a new high, thanks to programming like True Blood and books/films like Twilight, I suppose synthetic blood beverages were inevitable.
I really love the packaging on this product. Imagine walking down a busy street while drinking from an IV bag! That would be a head turner.

Ewwww, ick pooh. That sounds horrorbibble. The Vamps will love it though.

“Imagine walking down a busy street while drinking from an IV bag! That would be a head turner.”……….LoL, are you kidding!! While this bloody treat was still fairly unknown, people would be seriously freaking out and would either faint over cold or call the cops
I must say though, watching their reaction would be wonderful and highly entertaining. I thought it must either be a fruit punch drink or a tomato drink but in each case, hope you like your liquid THICK because this would be one hell of a congealed drink!!!
I totally agree with you about the vampire high going on right now. I’ve always had my particular level of allure to them on a variety of levels but I’ve never seen anything like what we see now in society. I would imagine many folks will be dressing as a tall dark vampire this year and having a drink like this in their hand, or hanging around their neck would really complete the costume. Not to mention, for those who have partners, you could put on quite the show of “blood” dripping down from your loved ones soft flesh as you devour her/his neck……..or other parts of the body
If you do try this, drinking the mixture that is, you gotta take a creative photo for us all and post it on SOS. Oh and thank you for your very thoughtful and kind comments back John…….I agree with you all the way my friend!

That’s cool. I noticed at Spirit Halloween this year they had syringes you could put your liquor shots in. Not a bad idea for a party.

The packaging is definately unique. I’m a fan of True Blood and can’t wait to give that drink a try.

Atrueoriginall,
Thanks for giving me a laugh tonight! Ewwww, ick pooh.
Goldie,
I know the vampire rage got a shot in the arm during the mid 90′s because of “Interview With A Vampire,” but it’s really hitting its strides now. Of course, Twilight and shows like The Vampire Diaries are making vampires appealing to an even younger audience, in a whole new way, far removed from Bram Stoker’s concept of Dracula.
I’ll absolutely let you guys know about it if I try it. This one would make a good review during a future video.
You know me when it comes to caring about animals, that’s why I’ve gone the vegetarian route. It’s coming up on a year now and I don’t miss meat one little bit.
autumnforest,
That’s right, you were going to Spirit about a week ago. I forgot to ask how you liked it. I didn’t see those syringes. I’ll be going back this week to deliver more Season of Shadows fliers, I’ll have to look for those.
Julie,
Thanks for your response. I’m not sure if you know this or not, but HBO is making a True Blood drink as well. It comes out around the 7th of October, I believe. I don’t have the link, but if you search for True Blood beverage on Google, it’ll come right up.

This is the craziest thing I’ve ever seen!!! How funny. And gross. And disturbing. And funny…I just don’t quite know what to make of it!

Ethan,
Sounds good. I look forward to your review. I’m betting it’s incredibly sweet.
Courtney,
Thanks for your message. Yeah, it’s one of those items that brings out a mixture of feelings and opinions.
That’s a good marketing strategy, I suppose.
