Edgar Allan Poe Speaks

August 2nd, 2009 by John Wolfe

A few entries back, in the comments’ section, I was asked by Atrueoriginall (she runs the very cool Paranormal Casebook site) if I liked Edgar Allan Poe. My response was that I always enjoyed his literary work during my childhood, especially “The Tell-tale Heart”, but as an adult I’ve been more drawn to learning about his life.

However, after watching the following video, I think I’ve been inspired to once again read his short stories. I’m not sure how this effect is created, but it’s a little haunting (especially the eyes), and rightfully so for “Poe’s” telling of an excerpt from “The Raven.”

Someone on youtube, I think he’s name was “bammbamm” used this same effect on having Sitting Bull speak to his people. I believe it said it was the software he had. I personally really enjoyed the effect because it was smoothly done like this one with Poe, the eyes were moving, the lips were softly moving and there was a little head movement from time to time. It’s all over youtube though, easy enough to find and it sort of brings back your favorites from the dead back to life :-)

I think I have seen the Sitting Bull video, now that you mention it. Ronh100 has a lot of these great videos. There’s Van Gogh, Tesla, Howard Hughes, Sly Stallone, Clinton, Thomas Jefferson and many more. I’m a huge Van Gogh fan, and he used one of Vincent’s self-portrait paintings to create the video. You’re right about it bringing back your favorites from the dead. For a moment, it feels like you’re looking at some footage from their lives.
