EVP Video Update
May 24th, 2009 by John Wolfe
Just a quick update regarding my progress on the latest spirit voice (EVP) video: Rather than making two installments for the last two weeks, I’ve decided to combine the best captures from two outings into a single video. So, it’s going to be a little longer before there’s a new upload. While we are finding a lot of disembodied voices leaving us messages, the majority are soft whispers. As this series continues, I’d prefer to only present the highest quality captures and it takes a lot of time to sort through our findings.
On a related note – the photo used in this entry came from a promotional item for the 2005 film, “White Noise.” I absolutely love the image, but didn’t enjoy the movie. Though the premise was great, the phenomena was given the typical Hollywood horror treatment.
Movies about ghosts and the supernatural are usually ruined by writers’ and directors’ incessant need to associate a large portion of the phenomena with evil and the like. I guess that’s what entertains some people; it’s a shame, because our findings show these voices have nothing to do with horror or so called evil. They appear to simply be human beings without bodies, reaching out to a world that refuses to accept them into its current paradigm.

John, thank you for the update. I will admit, aside from your older postings of course, I check SOS several times a day to see if you have had the chance to post your latest video. I love hearing what you and your Mom have found so I, for one, appreciate greatly you taking the time to keep us all up to date. Thank you
Funny you mention the picture you used because as soon as I saw it, I had to sit still for a moment, thinking back to my own EVP experiences and especially this weekend. Though I do enjoy watching the graph spike right on the mark of “her” whispers, it is almost as though those spikes in the graph should show a picture of their body in some way…..just like this photo. I really like it and find it hard to keep my eyes off of it. I do agree with you regarding the movie and most all Hollywood movies about the supernatural. Knowing “who” runs the industry, it’s really no surprise they want to instill fear, now is it?
Lastly, I’m biting my tongue to not harass you at the moment for I visited “my spot” last NIGHT and again this morning and I’m surprised to say, we sort of have a friendship that is being established. I know it sounds strange but she “expects” me now, she had 2 recommendations for me this morning (wait till I tell you about it!), she’s experimenting with what she can do with the recorder and becoming somewhat playful…..or a smart ass, not sure which of the two. I took my BOSE to the location, recorded for 5 minutes, she was whispering to me every 10-15 seconds, I stopped taping, listened to it ON THE SPOT and was floored…..I think she was too because then I could begin taping again a short time after returning comments to what she had said. Long story short, we got alot further along in this morning relations than any other time so far!!!!
You are right though, if the world only knew what all was around them and what they are missing. I kind of feel sad for the spirits though, like my “friend” at the spot, because sooooooooo much time has passed and she’s been hanging out where she does and nobody can hear her, nobody can sense her energy, nobody even takes the time to PAUSE in that location unless they’re burying their pet or getting drunk leaving behind trash. I told her today, “I appreciate your company dear friend” and she actually returned a reply under my last word, “so do I”….in whisper of course. Can’t wait to tell you all about it!!!
So much to share with you but you have much work to do, we’ll catch up sooner than later
Thank you for your posting John and take care.
With Much Gratitude, Goldie~*~

PS….I do have to thank you John.
You ARE the greatest inspiration to me when it comes to the paranormal world and had I not been a part of your world as you and your mom were experimenting with EVP’s, I would have never dusted off my recorder and taken it to “my spot.” I am forever grateful to you, for you…..and I’m sure my female friend in the bush/tree thanks you as well for if it weren’t for me dusting off my recorder, I would have never heard her voice. I could feel someone was there for well over 2 years but I “think” she must be tickled to know she can be heard. In fact, I can barely get my recorder going for 3 seconds and she starts whispering right away. She wastes NO TIME in speaking as soon as I push that big button…3 seconds this morning into pushing RECORD, the 8 second mark last night. We both/all thank you John, your thee greatest muse for us all

I’m happy to hear you’re establishing a relationship with the individual at your spot. I’ve had some similar success at a location in our recent recording. I’m hoping to continue communication in greater detail now that I know I’m receiving pertinent responses. The new, stationary recorder picked up some interesting things as well at the second cemetery, despite hardly recording a thing at the first location. Because of this, I’ve decided to try another experiment during this week’s session.
You mentioned that you visited last night, did you stay in the vehicle?
About “White Noise” – I can get why they do what they do in Hollywood – they want to score the revenue and then some, but I sure don’t support it or get on board with it. Heck, I have spooky ambiance at Season of Shadows, but I’ve never tried to associate the paranormal or Halloween for that matter with evil or gore. I guess I’m more of a Halloween/paranormal/ spooky aficionado than anything else. That’s why I’ve only placed an ad for this site in the TAPS (Ghost Hunters) Paramagazine Halloween issue. There are several gore and horror based magazines on the market, but they just don’t match or fit with what I do, not to mention I’m the last person you’ll ever see attending a horror or slasher film.
Thank you, too, Goldie. Your work and delving into these sessions inspires me as well. I look at everyone who’s involved in EVP sessions as being bridge builders between worlds. I’d much rather establish communication and get a “feel” for that environment before making my transition than be thrown into a big surprise with no ground work being set forth.
I have another piece of info regarding EVP that you may be interested in because of recent conversations with your computer repairman.
I was reading the book, “Voices from the Tapes” again. In the first chapter the author discusses scientific experiments being conducted in which all radio transmissions were ruled out and accounted for, yet the voices continued coming in. This was in the late 60′s and early 70′s well before cell phone communication, so radio waves were the primary form of any suspected “interference.” I also had a cell conversation while my recorder was running the other day and upon playback, there was zero detection on the recorder of my call.

Hey this isn’t related to this but, I haven’t heard from you in a while but i have something you might be interested. Go here and read it, if you like it to send it to everyone you know. go here (link edited)
I signed it a week a go.
Thanks

Thank you as always for your kind and supportive words dear friend. I have often wondered if we should tape record US when we are on the phone given how much unusual sound we both are picking up. I would hope that your recorder would be able to detect the invasions of clicks I get on my end because I think it would blow you right away knowing how many there are and the different volumes they come in at. Something seems to be further activated with our energies on the phone so it would be a curious experient. What do you think?
I played this weekend tapings to my computer repair guy, because some of what she is saying is very clearly spoken and she seems to like to do most of her talking in the first 10 minutes of me recording. The one at night I should have rephrased, I went to the spot at sundown, so it wasn’t pitch black there but the lights were dimming. It was an odd time to be there and a different feel did start to come over. Barely push the button and she’s talking right away. The one from Saturday am was cool because I brought my bag, water, BOSE, cherries to munch on, my book and so forth. As soon as I entered in between the two trees/bushes, I could sense my first priority was to find a spot on the branch and begin taping, so I did.
Upon doing so, you hear her sigh, “whew” and then she says “over there” which was the same time I felt the urge to move the recorder to a lower branch near me. Then I was looking for a place to sit since stickers now cover the bottom floor and I couldn’t really find a spot. Just as I was saying to myself, I should have brought floor mat, she came in right under my breath and said, ‘Next time bring a bath towel.” I shit you not! Every word was clearly spoken and I don’t call my towels BATH towels. Tons of other little things were said but I’ll save that for another time and I’m most curious as to how your experiement John. Don’t be such a stranger!
So I guess it was just some trucker passing by that happened to need a bath towel…..lol……….or maybe it was the wind that needed the towel, at that same time I needed something better to sit on

soulclincher,
It’s good to hear from you again. I’ll take a look at the site, thanks.
Goldie,
It would be very interesting to analyze phone recordings in a similar way as our digital voice recordings. I know the AAEVP website has a how-to for phone recordings that looks straightforward enough. Speaking of the wind or a trucker, what was the repairman’s response to your recent findings?

When it’s that clear, it’s funny to watch him because he has a curious look on his face, looks as me in a strange way and then doesn’t say much about it so I KNOW he heard what I did and it……”spooks” him in a way. He’s very scared by “ghosts” big time, almost as bad as spiders
Other times he told me it was me and I would ask him how I could talk outloud, as I was, AND talk in whisper to the recorder? Moreover, if I could do that, why would I mention such obscure things and not talk in big paragraphs, WHY just one sentence or 2-4 words? Again, he can’t come up with a logical answer, LoL–which is funny to watch, so he’ll just shrug his shoulders and move on with his daily activity of poking fun at my new “hobby.” Oh did I tell you he will NOT accompany me to a cemetary trip because, get this, he thinks I’m “calling up” the dead spirits!!! I told him they are already here and (Ooooooooo) all around him

Oh and good luck John (meaning honestly) in your ad you placed in the TAPS (Ghost Hunters) Paramagazine Halloween issue. Your website is definately getting out there more so now and anything I can do to be of further assistance, please feel free to call me and let me know. I think that’s a perfect location to place an advertisement in John, since they, “TAPS” are more about the paranormal and not the gore and guts like Hollywood movies. Spirits have gotten such a bad rap because of movies. Let me know how that turns out

Glad to know you informed him they are all around us anyway (whether we communicate or not) and are more than happy to interact most of the time without any prompting or “calling” on our part. Last night, as I was listening to our recent recordings, I received what I feel to be further confirmation of this fact. We were leaving the cemetery and were discussing what some in the community might say about our activities, I mentioned that those that have passed on want to speak with us, so what’s the harm. Shortly after my comment, I received a fairly clear EVP stating, “Yes, we do.” I took that as their way of letting it be known they have a say in the matter as well.
Thanks for the well wishes about the TAPS ad, but that ran in the October 2007 issue. As of right now I don’t have any plans to run it again, but by October I should have several more EVP videos up, so I may change my mind.
