Ghost Prank

October 5th, 2009 by John Wolfe

Yesterday was the witch, today it’s a “ghost’s” turn to elicit some funny responses. I have no clue what’s being said in this video, but from what I can surmise the three men (the victims) think they’re being hired for some sort of nightly duty at a cemetery.

This clip reminds me of something my great grandfather did many, many years ago. He and several other men were working in some capacity with coffins and a cemetery. I can’t recall if they were building the coffins or what, but this all took place outside by the graveyard.

They were taking a break near an empty, above ground coffin, when one of the guys decided to climb inside and have a little fun with a fellow co-worker — who I’ll call Jerry. Jerry joined the group (after the man had climbed inside), and a few minutes later the coffin began to shake.

All of a sudden, the man burst out from beneath the lid moaning and groaning. Jerry didn’t stick around to see who or what was coming out. He was up in a flash and running as fast as he could through the adjacent field, in the process tearing down several fences along the way!

My grandfather, who has told me this story (about his dad), swears they had to send out a man on horseback to chase Jerry down and rope him to get him stopped. Now that’s pretty extreme!

I sure do love the MANY stories you have about your family John, in particular your grandfather and great grandfather. It’s a good thing your grandpa’s never met my grandpa and uncle for they to lived for pulling pratical jokes on the rest of us. That would have been one scary family for sure! I was LOLing big time while reading your personal story down below the video. I don’t think I heard that one :-)

Loved the video. Men sure do run fast when their scared straight. I bet alot of wives out there wished their husbands would react that fast to their requests ;-) LOVED watching the webcam last night and never once would I know your allergies were bothering you. You were hiding it really well, much better than I would be doing, that’s for sure!

Awesome practical joke–looks like something I’d do. Love it!

Since they didn’t clock out, do you suppose they’ll get paid anyway? At least damage pay for the trousers, maybe? lol

    Goldie,

I definitely come from a long line of practical jokers! It seems to run in the bloodline, but only for the men. :) There’s so many stories that I’ll forget about until something reminds me. This video brought the story back about my great grandpa.

I love the psst sound the lady makes… LOL. If I was in her shoes, I think I would have been moaning or something besides psst! ;)

Glad the allergies weren’t coming through on the cam — I just keep turning the radio volume up! We’ve had some mean wind this week, so I think that’s what’s kicked up my sinuses.

    autumnforest,

    I figured you’d enjoy this one. ;)

    Stephanie,

LOL! Yeah, they’re going to need some pay to replace the tread on those shoes as well. They were in high gear!
