Grim Reaper’s Halloween 2
April 2nd, 2010 by John WolfeAnother awesome, animated interpretation of Camille Saint-Saens’ “Danse Macabre,” only with a slightly different twist than my earlier Grim Reaper’s Halloween entry. This time around, “Death” not only raises the dead on October 31st, but also plays a role in the dream world that Freddy Krueger would envy.

Wow! That’s really gorgeous and creepy at the same time. I appreciate people with that vivid an imagination for the world of the macabre.

Well, wish me luck on sleeping tonight!! This is one video that rookie astral travelers should not see
I’ve had nightmares similar to the ending of this amazing video: the ones where you think and feel that you ARE awake only to find out your still in the dream and not awake at all. I’ve also had nightmares where I’m kicking and spinning in bed under the covers like that only to wake straight up to a sitting position and very wide open eyes like she had. I bet you loved this video when you found it, did you not? This was truly an outstanding animation.
If there were awards given out to people who have an incredible knack for finding obscure spooky Halloween videos, you would take FIRST PLACE hands down my friend. You’ve done it yet again. Fantastic find.

autumnforest,
You just summed up my favorite style when it comes to spooky stuff–gorgeous and creepy! I always enjoy seeing spooky things brought to life through an “attractive” presentation as opposed to gory, violent or horrific presentations. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Goldie,
So, how did it go with Mr. Sandman last night? Nah, I don’t think I’ll be recommending this selection to anyone looking for advice on out-of-body experiences anytime soon.
I totally enjoyed this animation; it blends my love of Halloween with my fascination of the dream world!
When it comes to locating cool vids–I just dig and dig and dig. Thanks for noticing.
Ethan,
While I don’t know squat about creating animation, I think you’re right–it does appear to be done by hand–no computer generated stuff there.
