Halloween 2009 Page
November 3rd, 2009 by John Wolfe
Just added the 2009 Haunt Photo Page to the site. Halloween night was awesome! So many kind visitors stopped by the haunt. A huge thanks to the trick-or-treaters and their parents for their support and a GIGANTIC thanks to my entire family for all of their help. Without their extraordinary efforts it wouldn’t have come together in time. Also, a big thanks to everyone who checked out the live haunt cam feed and to the visitors and moderator of the chat box. All of you guys inspire me and I can’t wait to get started on the 2010 haunt!

Oh my gosh! It’s truly a work of art and passion. As a person who is a cemetery freak–it passed my most scary cemetery EVER test! Congrat’s on a most amazing job!

John, it’s all of us who thank YOU for sharing your Halloween experience with us all. The webcam was/is a exceptional idea on a variety of levels. Having the cam not only guided us perfectly how to create the groundbreaking corpses but, for those of us who couldn’t have a Halloween this year, we could live out the experience through you and the webcam. This was a fantastic idea and I’m most pleased it’s something your going to continue for 2010 upon building, from scratch, the Angel of Death. I can’t wait!
As for your photos: HOLY COW JOHN, lol, no wonder people were stopping to take their photos in the graveyard, next to the corpses and taking small video footage of your amazing yard haunt!! This is excellent and I’m so glad you posted these, thank you! The webcam was awesome Halloween night but we saw maybe 1/8 of the entire yard haunt so having these pictures and seeing in it’s totality really brings it all home!! Actually, I just found my new wallpaper
The corpses in front of the tombstones are indeed realistic, and then some and I have to agree with you about the cornstalks. As much as I loved having them, I gotta say I like this look better without them. It allows the tombstones and the corpses to stand out more so, they look very present and alive to attack the living
Oh and “my guy” steals the show, WOW, how creepy does he look put into the scene! I knew I liked him for a reason, but they all look great of course. Moreover, your scarecrow back there looks perfect. He looks so immense and frightening without the cornstalk behind him, he really stands out. By the way, you take outstanding photos. I love how you twist yourself into all kinds of positions high and low to get just the right photo. Oh and the under the chin shots are marvelous, well done dear one.
SeasonofShadows continues to impeccably evolve into thee most incomparable and extraordinary Halloween/Paranormal websites out there on the internet my friend. You truly have done a phenomenal job with putting your dreams together and made them a HUGE and impressive reality! I am most excited for you, SeasonofShadows and 2010…keep up the fantastic work and sensational inspiration to us all. All My Best John

autumnforest,
Coming from such a big cemetery fan as well as horror and Halloween, that’s a huge compliment! Thank you! I hope your party was awesome. I haven’t swung by your site yet, but I’m looking forward to seeing the pictures.
Ghoul Friday,
Thanks — I’m hoping to spread it out even more next year. I may have to ask the neighbors if I can spill over into their yard… LOL – something tells me that won’t fly.
Goldie,
I’m so glad you enjoyed the webcam. I’m wanting to add an additional camera to the haunt for next year and will definitely have the existing one up and running again in a few weeks in the shop.
Thanks for the nice words about the haunt photos.
I was initially concerned about not having the stalks this year, but I definitely think the haunt looks better without them. While they did create a nice backdrop (and hid the house), they also caused a reflection of light that washed out the majority of the haunt. So, I think I’ll go without them from now on. I may bring in a bundle or two here or there, but no more in large quantities.
Glad you liked my “funky” camera angles. My mini-tripod has been a great investment. That little thing allows me to get into places that even surprise me. Thanks again for all your support, promotion of the site and kind words. My dream for Season of Shadows would not be possible without you, as well as all of my other visitors.
Rot,
Great to hear from you. I so appreciate your message and glad you like the photos! I haven’t had a chance to swing by your site yet, but I look forward to seeing your 2009 page very soon.

What excellent attention to detail. I stumbled upon you on you tube and was amazed with the detail you put into every prop. Your work ethic is very similar to mine. except mine was a gift from Uncle Sam in the result of P.T.S.D. / Hyper-active\attention-deficit order. Instead of getting down on it, I use it to my advantage when it come to do with art. I’ll just pop a couple of Ritalin 20mg (compliments of Uncle Sam) and have the most incredible time in my studio, pushing out pieces very similar to you my friend! Keep up the amazing work! Your haunt looked spectacular!
Stay True To What you Do~

Full Moon Industries,
Thank you, so much! I can somewhat relate in regards to what spurs on my attention to detail. Initially, it stems from my love of creating the props, but I also have a very large dose of OCD thrown into the mix. It’s relentless in causing my expectations to be extremely high for my work — which is a good thing. It’s one of the only good things about my OCD.
I’d love to see some of your work. Take care of yourself and thanks again.
