Halloween Artwork Giveaway

Autumnforest won Lot 1, Fiend4Halloween won Lot 2, and Franz won Lot 3 of Ethan’s awesome Halloween artwork.
Based on recent correspondence, I know how excited some of you are for Halloween to hurry up and get here. The e-mails I’ve been receiving lately tell the tale of a thirst for October 31st like I’ve never seen before… okay, so I’m exaggerating a bit, but not by much. 
And while I can’t do anything about speeding up Halloween’s arrival, I can certainly try to quench that thirst a bit with some wonderfully spooky Halloween artwork in this latest giveaway. Ethan Black, an EXTREMELY talented artist and regular visitor to Season of Shadows, has been kind enough to provide me with nine pieces of Halloween-themed artwork to give to three separate winners.
I’ve divided his work into three lots; each lot contains three spooky renderings. The pieces range from small and medium-sized prints of his work, to an original drawing by Ethan.
Up first is Lot #1 (pictured in the top paragraph – click image to enlarge). This group of three contains the lantern waving zombie resting on a tombstone; a wicked-looking page from the Necronomicon (a fictional book of magic found in the works of H.P. Lovecraft) – the Necronomicon piece is an original of Ethan’s; and a matted, grinning jack-o-lantern print. Up next is Lot #2 (pictured in this paragraph – click image to enlarge). This second group of three contains “The Old Witch” performing her rituals over a cauldron; a framed print of a pumpkin-headed scarecrow standing guard over the harvest; and a matted print of a devil’s silhouette.
Last but not least, is Lot #3. This third group contains the hooked skeleton; the matted “Witch And Moon” print; and the matted haunting “Ghost” print. Lot #1 will be given to the first random number drawn. Lot #2 will be given to the second random number drawn. And, Lot #3 will be given to the third random number drawn. Please, only one entry per household. Duplicate entries from the same IP will be deleted. These giveaways are really based on the honor system, but I do my best to make it as fair as possible for everyone. There’s no catch here, everything is free–including payment of shipping and handling for all three lots of Halloween artwork–I cover all costs. To be entered, leave a comment below showing your interest.
Depending on the volume of entries, comments may only be displayed under this post for a short time. As entries grow, I may remove comments to make it easier for visitors to scroll to the comment box and enter. However, I guarantee all entries will be saved in the order they are received.
When leaving a comment, be sure to include your correct e-mail address and be certain to keep track of your spam or bulk folder after the drawing closes, just in case. Each winner of Ethan’s Halloween artwork will be contacted through the e-mail address that’s registered with their comment. I will never share addresses, provided by entrants, with any third parties and you’ll never receive unsolicited mail when entering.
This Halloween artwork contest will end at 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on November 15, 2010. All legitimate entries will then be assigned a number in the order they were received. Three numbers will be randomly drawn to determine the winners.
All three winners will then be notified, via the e-mail addresses they provided, no later than November 16th. If one, or all three don’t respond (with their shipping information) within two weeks, then one (two or three) more number(s) will be drawn to determine the new winner(s). Upon receiving their permission, the winners’ names will be featured at the top of this post.

What a great idea! I love it all! It would be most welcome in my new abode and make me smile every time I look at it. It’s fun to be able to actually decorate how I want. I even made a horror set in my spare room and can keep it up all the time because this is my own space! Wahoo!

John, absolutely count me in!!! I absolutely ADORE Ethan’s work in a big way. In fact the witch and the moon pic is one of my all time favorites of Ethan’s work, although I love everything he creates. He’s got a wicked creative imagination. This is an excellent give-away John and thank you for spreading it apart in 3 parts so we all have a chance to win some of Ethan’s incredible art work. Congrats, Autumn, on finally being able to display things the way you’ve always wanted! But I’m wondering if “Dale The Doll” has some objections to that.
When I talk to you about the doll, it always reminds me of that episode of Three’s Company where a ventriloquist moves in next door to Jack, Krissy and Janet. I can’t remember everything that happens, but it was typical Three’s Company wackiness. Thanks for entering.

I love it when that crispness of fall starts creeping into the air too. We’ve been having a little of that, but our weather has still been a bit warm. Though, I’m sure the cool temps will make it by Halloween. Usually, the week before Halloween, as I’m working outside on late night prep stuff for the haunt, I find myself having to wear two pairs of socks, a jacket and a pullover wool cap — I look like the kids from South Park.

I’m totally wanting to do another Haunter’s Reality installment — sheesh, I can’t believe it’s already been two years since I made the last one! I’m working on getting extra video footage of fall/Halloween activities to stockpile for a future episode, plus I’ll be filming some more time-lapse prop work over the winter months. I know the thought would never in a million years occur to John, but if *I* was in John’s shoes right now I would be seriously tempted just to keep my mouth shut and keep your art for myself! The thought did cross my mind to keep it all for myself. Just as you were doing the whole Gollum thing, I was doing the whole Daffy Duck bit where he and Bugs are looking for treasure in the open sesame episode: “Mine, mine mine! It’s all mine!” LOL… just kidding! I love Ethan’s work, but I’d never do that — the visitors always come first.

I LOVE that Bugs and Daffy cartoon! It’s probably one of my top 5 fave’s!!!
I also love the “duck season/rabbit season” ones but the one you mentioned has some of the greatest and funniest lines ever in it…..
“Consequences, schmonsequences, as long as I’m rich!”
“Uh,..open Saskatchewan,..uh,..open sarsaparilla….”
“What a way for a duck to travel, underground” as he pounds dirt out of his ears!
and when Bugs is finally sitting on the beach opening oysters and says “Hey, look, it’s a pearl” but pronounces it more like ‘poiy-yurl’ always cracked me up!
And the squeaky sound the camel’s legs make as the owner and it ride away after giving Hassan his orders is great!
And of course it’s one where they were supposed to take that left turn at Albuquerque! lol!!
I spent an enormous amount of time as a kid sitting in front of the TV and watching Bugs and Daffy and the great MGM/Tex Avery cartoons and can recite a lot of them start to finish including some of the silly sound effects. It’s an odd talent and thus it is appropriate that it’d be one that I have. lol! ::huge wink!::

Sorry about putting that message at the top of this response. I ALWAYS encourage you or anyone else to comment as much as you guys like. But since this is a giveaway, I just want to make sure everyone knows it’s being conducted fairly.
Wow, you certainly do remember that cartoon. I had forgotten all about Hassan. As soon as you mentioned his name, it brought back memories of “Hassan-chop!” And I absolutely have a special connection to the wrong turn at Albuquerque thing — lord knows I’ve made a lot of wrong turns in Albuquerque! I seem to have a very strange ability to recall tons of things from my time as a toddler (around two and three), and I totally remember watching that cartoon in our apartment (ironically enough, in Albuquerque) when I was about three-years-old. Of course, I think I have seen it once or twice since then, but it seems to be one that’s rarely shown on television.
Another of my favorites with Daffy was the one where he was a pet for that little girl whose father totally despised him. Daffy was always eating at the dinner table with the family, regaling them with stories of the wild parties he had been attending: “What a party brotherrrrr.”

i love all the artwork…that one of the skeleton behind the gravestone would be great for what you and i were talking about in private…. awesome artwork either way!!! just completed the schools fall festival, so got to dress up for the first time this season, and will be more elaborate next weekend…will have a little more time to get all the makeup done and find the rest of my actual costume…but the house is decorated for the most part, until next weekend when we put out our screeching swinging flickering eyed bat out, our headless corpse bride and the twin zombie babies “phil and lil” lol
