Halloween at Boney Island

April 18th, 2009 by John Wolfe

The Boney Island Skeleton Yard Haunt was created and maintained for ten years by Rick Polizzi. Unfortunately, due to complaints from neighbors, Halloween 2007 was the last time the blucky skeleton crew performed for visitors. While Boney Island wasn’t intended to be a scare-fest, it was an amazingly, creative undertaking that could be enjoyed by the whole family. It’s a shame to see such a cool haunt go by the way side simply because it “inconvenienced” a couple of people for a few nights each October. I hope you enjoy HollywoodGothique’s footage.

There’s something about wanting to be freaked out every now and then that thrills me. Growing up, my somewhat religious background prevented me from enjoying Halloween to its fullness but that didn’t prevent me from enjoying a good thriller movie from time to time.

It’s too bad Rick Polizzi had to bury his creation. This is someplace I would definately go and I’d bring the kids, too (if I had any kids to bring)
