Halloween Haunt-Line

November 30th, 2010 by John Wolfe

I just added a live phone chat feature to the site, designed to help with any questions you may have pertaining to building newspaper and paper mache-based Halloween corpses. I also totally welcome calls from visitors who want to talk about anything else Halloween-related. I’m here to help or to just have a friendly conversation. You can reach me by clicking on the embedded “Call Me” button below. Using the button will allow you to place your call completely free of charge via the Google Voice system — you can even choose to place your call without revealing your number to my caller-id. If I’m unavailable for chat (usually after 9 pm mountain time), your call will be forwarded to the Halloween Haunt-Line’s voice-mail feature.

After clicking on the button, inputting your info, and selecting connect, Google will ring your number and then patch your call through to me.

Or you can dial direct by calling 702-529-DEAD (3323). Regular US long distance rates apply when dialing directly.

Here’s where you can find the Halloween Haunt-Line’s permanent page. It will also eventually be accessible through a link in the sidebar of every page on the site. The cell phone chatting corpse’s image/link is already in the sidebar of the home page and blog and will be throughout the rest of SOS by tomorrow night. I look forward to chatting with you!

Dude, that’s completely awesome! Your creativity with your website never ceases to amaze! Don’t know if I’ll ever have the guts to give ya a call, but that’s a really neat idea. Stay Scary!

    Damian,

Thanks, man! I’m wanting to start selling props at some point, too, so I also thought having a number where I could be reached would be good for anyone who has questions about the items I’m selling. Though communicating through e-mail works just fine, I really enjoy talking with people over the phone. Don’t be shy, if you ever wanna just say hey, feel free to give me a holler.

wow that is great! I never thought of something like this. ut oh you will be getting bothered all the time now. yikes and that will be the end of the haunt line. lol now your kind of like batman , he has the bat phone and you have the haunt phone. Cool!

  4. Doug Says:

Very cool, man. I don’t know many website owners (myself included) who would open their ears to anyone out on the web who wanted to call in. You are seriously dedicated to the Halloween community and I’m sure I speak for everyone who visits your site when I say THANK YOU. I might give a call some time.

  5. Camile Says:

I’m sitting here with my mouth hanging open! John, you are so dedicated and so giving to us! What an incredible thing to do! As if we aren’t already spoiled enough here?!? OMGosh! How thoughtful and kind of you! You are truly a prince!

    ssflipo13,

Nah, it’s cool — I love hearing from you guys. And I want to help out however I can. Now on the other hand, if I start getting calls asking if my refrigerator’s running… better go out and catch it, then that’s gonna be a bother. :D I was already thinking about trying to get a 1-800 number to put on the site so visitors could call toll free, and then I found Google offered this service, which is great cause it’s free for callers when they use the button and it’s free of charge for me to host it.

Yeah, speaking of Batman, if my phone starts ringing and Commissioner Gordan’s on the other end, I’m gonna start to wonder what’s going on… lol. But rather than fighting crime, my duty will probably be to bury the walking dead.

    Doug,

It’s my pleasure. And please, feel free to call whenever you like. I’ve got the service set to ring my cell so the Haunt-Line’s with me almost at all times.

    Camile,

Thanks! You guys are so awesome about supporting my projects — I just want to be able to find as many ways as I can to show my appreciation for you all.

Most excellent idea John! The fact that you open yourself to your fans and friends like this speaks worlds of the type of person you are. Your kind words and support, your friendly email chats, theyve always been an uplifting and encouraging gesture, but for you to put yourself out there like this is just fantastic. Kudos to you.

Of course 9pm Mountain time is awful late for an east coast old fart like me, but who knows.. One of these days you might just hear from me.

    Until next.

    SKAustin,

Thanks. With great folks like you and so many others visiting the site, that makes it extremely easy for me to want to do more things like this. And likewise, I’ve enjoyed all our conversations via e-mail. Your interest in my projects, along with your kindness and your creative talents are all an inspiration to me.

I look forward to hearing from you one of these days! I let the Haunt-Line go to voice-mail after 9 pm my time, but you can usually reach me throughout the day and night prior to that.

Wow, SK said it all perfectly as have all of your visitors/regulars John!! SK nailed it right on the head and took the words straight from my own thoughts, without him even aware he was doing so. I am hugely proud of you Sweetie: of who you are as a person, for your intense generosity, your compassion for all of humanity, your thoughtful and direct comments to those of us who leave comments behind AND you still find the time to create such masterpieces AND run one of the best websites online AND keep up with all of your personal affairs on the home front…..if ever there was a Superman John, YOU WOULD BE HIM!!!

Personally I feel the planet could use a lot MORE of “John” in human form, meaning I wish we had at least 3.5 billion more of souls like YOU and your Mom on planet Earth right now. It’s spirits/energy like you both that make this world an amazing place to be right now. I’m most honored I can share this moment in time….once in a life time moment with you and your Mom and all of your fantastic regular visitors on SeasonofShadows!! You contribute so much quality to life John. We would be lost without you @}—}—-}—-}————————–

THANK YOU…..thank you very very much ;-)

    Goldie,

Thank you so much! The world might be in trouble, however, if there were several more carbon copies of me running around. We’d be up to our elbows in dirty joke telling, glasses wearing, questionable self-esteem having screwballs who watch way too much “Two and a Half Men.” :) Now, my mom on the other hand — I totally agree with you — a few more of her on this planet would be really great!

Seriously, though, thank you, Goldie. I really appreciate it. Your constant support of SOS and our friendship mean so much to me!
