Halloween Haunter’s Reality #3
September 18th, 2008 by John WolfeWelcome back to Halloween Haunter’s Reality. In this installment, I’ve included time-lapse construction of my latest ground breaker corpse, a little tour of my work area and a trip to the Spirit Halloween store. When I first started creating these videos, I swore I wasn’t going to do a lot of editing…um, yeah, that’s sort of changed!
In putting together the time-lapse segment, I had to heavily edit and condense a couple hours of video into about two minutes.
I loved doing it, however, because it shows a lot of the building process. I want to do the same thing with an upcoming episode for laying the initial mache on the ground breaker. If you have any questions about anything I did in the building of the corpse or the rest of this episode, please don’t hesitate to email me or leave a comment. I hope you enjoy the video.
I’d like to thank Creepy, the Los Angeles Halloween Blog, for featuring a link to my Haunter’s Reality posts.

These videos are GREAT! Really inspiring. I’ve watched this one and just the beginning of #1 and I’m hooked. I’ve decided to savor them and finish watching all during glue/paint drying breaks working on my own props today.
Thanks for putting these together.

Hey John
Prep is coming together, slowly but surely. Just posted on of my silly yard creations today on the design blog with pics if your curious.

Adding a little paper mache to my “blucky” zombies this year to punch up the skin texture.

Thanks, Dave.
Ah, good old blucky, huh? Those things can look awesome with a little effort. Did you ever see the Boney Island blucky creations? They featured it on HGTV last year. The guy that built it was affiliated with the Simpson’s television show. It wasn’t creepy, but it was extremely creative and very innovative.
I look forward to seeing what you’ve done. I’ll swing by in a bit and check it out.
