Halloween Ice Sculpture
September 2nd, 2009 by John Wolfe
I’m always on the lookout for Halloween creations that have been hewed out of unconventional materials. I suppose ice could qualify as being a medium that breaks with tradition. The artist, Chef Scott, did a great job on this skull! It has a slight Tim Burton-esque quality to it. Initially, I was a little thrown by the hose coming out from under the nose, but considering this was used in a bar setting, and I’m a teetotaler — I thought that probably explained it.
I assumed it might have served as a means for dispensing the drinks. However, after further checking at Scott’s site, DreamsInIce.com, I learned the hose is most likely used for drainage of the melting water.
Since finding this cool ice sculpture, I’ve been on a mission to locate Halloween sand carvings.

It would have been cool to use a fissure in the skull to pour the drinks down it and into the glasses to cool them off before serving and for the creepiness of it, especially if the drinks were red.

Something like that was what I thought the tube was for. Using a red color would be a great effect.
