Halloween Illusions
December 8th, 2009 by John WolfeHere’s a couple of cool vids in which YT user, joenamsinh scares trick-or-treaters on Halloween night, courtesy of the ole head drop and living hand illusions.
After checking out these clips, I suddenly have an urge to watch Criss Angel’s “Mindfreak.”

That first video is too funny. I wonder how he does that. Watching these two vid’s is kind of getting me in the mood for Christmas. ??? How is that possible? Maybe they should combine Christmas and Halloween, what do you think? That would be awesome.

The first on eowas one I have not seen. The second you can order from a prop company.

That is some really neat effects.
If I ever tried something like that in my neighborhood the kids around here would grab my head and stuff it in the mailbox!

Elaine,
I’m not sure how he does the drop head trick, but I think there are some videos on You Tube that teach people how to perform it. You’re definitely in good company when it comes to combining Christmas and Halloween — especially when I think of Tim Burton and The Nightmare Before Christmas. Disney does a whole Nightmare Before Christmas theme on their Haunted mansion this time of year as well. If you like, you can check out my blog entry on their display: Haunted Mansion Holiday
I’m always keeping an eye open for any Christmas decor that incorporates an October 31st theme.
autumnforest,
I’m right there with you! Many neighborhoods seem to be completely absent of Halloween enthusiasts these days. Though the interest in Halloween itself is on the rise, home haunters (in any capacity) appear to be declining. The good thing, however, is those of us that are committed to haunting our homes continue to up the ante each and every year.
But I wish more neighbors would join in as we do our haunt as well. It would be great to have a whole neighborhood full of different haunts and scares all on the same block.
Ethan,
Thanks, man. I sort of thought the first one was more illusion and the second was a prop. But he did such a good job acting out the hand/arm that it had some illusion to it as well.

J. Burkhart,
Thanks for checking out the post and commenting. Yeah, that’s rough when you have people who just don’t appreciate the effort you put forth.
