Halloween Mailbox

May 15th, 2009 by John Wolfe

With my Halloween yard haunt being a single day operation – up in the morning and down by midnight – I’ve never really concerned myself with decorating outside the focal point of the graveyard. It’s cool to see folks get into the spirit with traditional Halloween decor adorning their mailboxes, walkways, etc. Personally, after spending many hours on my creations, I wouldn’t want to risk leaving them out for more than Halloween night unsupervised.

Of course, why not! People leave out, on their lawn as decoration, bunnies, butterflies, Christmas decorations until July, motorcycles….lol, why not some really awesome ghoulish figure that seems like it’s part of the climate?! I like this one especially cause it honestly looks like he’s just chillin, hanging out, and waiting for his chance on the recorder ;-)

Actually, however, even where I live, or my folks, you really can’t keep anything to pronouned in the yard (something really cool like that photo) because if it’s not the norm and passer-byers like it, your place will be hit at night and the item GONE by morning. Although I would think the backyard might be a bit safer but with your delightful humanish looking corpses, that’s definately not something that can, or should, be left out in the elimates of our atmostphere for to long.

Guess what woke me this am John? Yep, a massive “wall falling apart” sound. It’s as though “they” were patiently waiting during my sleep and when I didn’t quite wake up early enough, in comes the sound of the wall falling apart!!! Reminds me of the phone clicks invasion in my ear last night. Have a great day!

I’m not sure what season motorcycles are supposed to represent… lol, but I know exactly what you mean. :D

It’s interesting you are receiving many bizarre audible sounds, yet when you had your recording session nothing showed up on playback.

That’s spooky. I love it! I think more people should leave their Halloween decorations up. That would be so cool.

Thanks, Andrea, it seems Halloween is the only holiday which doesn’t see people leaving decorations up for months after the fact. It’s about time zombies and skeletons get their fair shake rather than year round Christmas lights. ;)
