Halloween Projector
September 9th, 2008 by John WolfeSo, I was checking out Halloween catalogs last year and I stumbled across this really cool projector. I never got around to grabbing it, but knew for sure I wasn’t going to let Halloween slip by this year without picking it up. If something creates a dance of light and shadow, I’m automatically interested. If that item also happens to include the ability to cast Halloween themed shapes, then I’m very interested!
The dome projects the images of a ghost, spider, witch, black cat, bats and graveyard- complete with the obligatory gnarled tree, all while rotating around the base. Admittedly, the images move somewhat fast and are slightly blurred on the wall, but overall it’s a great little toy. It runs off of two C batteries and is called “Spooky Shadows”. It’s available from Terry’s Village and the Fright Catalog. While the Fright Catalog is my usual choice for haunt gear- Terry’s had them beat by about a six dollar difference.
The light is actually quite brighter than what’s shown in my images. I altered the shutter speed on my camera to catch the quick movement without blurring the shot.
This little thing will be putting me to sleep every night until Halloween.

DUDE!
You are my hero!
I have been smacking my head into a wall looking for exactly this. (Then I realized that wasn’t working so I tried google – still no luck)
Ever since “Sleepy Hollow” I’ve wanted something like this. Recently it has become quite apparent that my little girl is fascinated by shadows and will spend a good hour ignoring her mobile to watch the shadows it casts instead I am definitely picking this up for us.
A thousand times thank you!

Glad I could help, Johnny! Man, it sounds like your daughter is going to be a true “Halloween-er”…chip off the old block, huh?
