Halloween Protein Drink

January 10th, 2009 by John Wolfe

The good folks at Odwalla are making a pumpkin flavored protein drink. I’ve yet to try it, but since I am a mass consumer of protein shakes, this one is definitely on my to-try list. The Super Protein Pumpkin is soy based. I currently drink chocolate whey protein after my workouts and several other times throughout the day, but I always add in pumpkin spice. My full recipe is: one apple, one scoop of whey powder, a cup of raw oatmeal, a pinch of pumpkin spice and ice cubes, all blended on high for several seconds.

Now, either that whets your appetite or grosses you out. :) Hopefully the former.

Thanks to Michelle Geller for the image.

What? Pumpkin flavor, oh please, bring it on! Oh My God, this is one of my all time FAVORITE natural food drinks!!! Odwalla has thee best tasting protein drinks EVER!!! I love that they have now upgraded to larger half gallon sizes instead of the little 8 oz drinks. I don’t believe you just posted this…..John!!! How do you do it??? You continue to remain in sync with my thoughts, with my consciousness, my jaw just dropped to the floor! Incredible!

Hey, your protein mixture sounds perfect! Never thought of adding an apple nor the oatmeal. I do add wheat germ and barley poweder as well as acacia fiber. I bought a new flavor from GNC, Banana Cream, I can’t wait to taste that one! My choice fruit to throw in is usually a banana but an apple would be a nice change of pace. Oh yeah, it wets my appetite just fine. I could see it now, a perfect lunch outing for us, our chilled protein shakes on the GOoooooooo!!! LoL. Thank you for sharing!

I am seriously going to call around to my local Whole Foods and see if they’re carrying this. I’ll probably start mixing it half and half with my whey. Glad to hear you like my current recipe. Of course, that reaction would probably be A LOT different if I told you what I used to use for protein drinks…bleck!!! It even grosses me out to think about it now.

You’re very welcome, Goldie. Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to leave some feedback. I always appreciate it!
