Halloween Radio

February 25th, 2010 by John Wolfe

Sorry I missed posting an entry yesterday, but I’ve been really busy the last few days working on the new Season of Shadows Halloween Radio. The section features Halloween music as well as dark ambient/atmospheric tunes. Currently, there’s over forty minutes of audio that can be played via the embedded player. The Halloween Radio has music from amazingly talented artists like Nox Arcana and raison d’etre!

Nox Arcana and raison d’etre were both extremely generous in granting me the permission to feature their work; and I cannot THANK them enough! While enjoying the new section, please swing by the artists’ sites; show them some love, and let them know Season of Shadows sent you, as this project wouldn’t have been possible without their kindness. I’d also like to thank Goldie for her awesome input and collaboration on ideas for the Halloween Radio page.

Over the coming months, I’ll be doing my best to continue adding to the current volume of great Halloween audio, so if you have a dark ambient or Halloween musical project to contribute, or if you can put me in touch with someone who does, please contact me. I’m already working on getting permission from a few other dark artists, so here’s hoping the musical catalog continues to grow over time. I hope you enjoy it.

1 – Season of Shadows is going places this year darlin’ in a big way!!!

2 – That pic of the groundbreaker wearing your headphones is totally awesome John. I came “this” close to making it my wallpaper. It just makes me giggle and smile big time.

3 – MY PLEASURE JOHN :-) Anything I can do to help both you and your websites I’m more than happy to do. I’m always here for you and you know that.

4 – I too want to thank the above mentioned artists in being so kind and gracious to allow you to post their links/music to your page. Networking never hurts, no matter which way that may be so a big shout out to both of them as well.

LoL……..I just love that pic. It’s got my funny bone for some reason ;-)

Hey John–I’m hyped–that’s awesome! I just wrote a post a few days ago about Nox Arcana and mentioned you.

You got me hooked! It’s my #1 horror writing music. I’m starting a horror writer’s critique group and that’ll be in my “tools” box for everyone for what they should listen to while writing–I’ll turn them onto your Halloween radio–I bookmarked it. Hey, you know, that’s such a cool thing–would you mind if I just do a post on it?

    Goldie,

I’m glad the 1970′s/80′s head gear on my groundbreaker gave you a smile! I just had to use the really big headphones for emphasis. Those little things that tuck down into your ears nowadays just wouldn’t have had the same effect. :D

When it comes to your number one comment, I’ll drink to that. I’m certainly doing my best to make 2010 phenomenal, and “lovin’ every minute of it.” ;) Thanks, my friend.

    autumnforest,

Thank you so much for mentioning me in your blog entry about Nox Aracana! That’s so cool that you’ve become a big fan of their work. I can certainly see why it inspires your horror writing, because it certainly inspires me as I’m listening to it while building my props. You’re more than welcome to post about the Halloween Radio. Thanks!

I have some friends localy who create both garage rock and celtic music. Both have some Halloween, horror, and ghost type work. The master mind behind both is contactable at his facebook. His name is Troy and he is a super nice guy. I have no dbout he would like to have some of his songs added. I for one like “The Glowing Bones of Craigy Hope” as it is based on a real local legend. Here is his facebook link. http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=121572&id=100000177065504#!/profile.php?id=1002287280&ref=ts

Already been listening for a bit. I like your taste in dark music. The radio section is a great addition and the corpse wearing the headphones is a nice touch to.

    Ethan,

Thanks for the heads up. I’ll definitely check out the page and see what their music is like. Their style sounds like it may be right up my alley.

    frightnight,

Thanks, man. I’m very happy to hear you’re enjoying the tracks. The corpse wearing headphones brings a whole new meaning to that brand called “Skull Candy.” :)
