Halloween Radio Update
March 10th, 2010 by John Wolfe
I’ve received the okay from another really talented, dark ambient artist, Kammarheit, to feature some tracks from the album, “The Starwheel” in the Season of Shadows Halloween Radio player. Tracks 11 through 13 are “Klockstapeln,” “The Starwheel (Counter Clockwise),” and “Spatium.” I’ve been a fan of Kammarheit’s music ever since Victor of Haunted Hot Sauce turned me on to “The Starwheel” over a year ago, so it’s a huge honor for me to feature these works! I hope you enjoy the new additions to the player as much as I do.

Those are some eerie sounding tracks. Is it weird that I get slightly relaxed while listening to them? Thanks for posting them. They sound almost space-like and very ominous.

Wahoo! You’ve really helped me to find new artists I want to add to my scary background music-while-I-write-horror collection. Can’t wait to hear it!

Dr. Necropolis,
You’re welcome. I don’t think it’s weird to get relaxed by it. My good friend Goldie tells me that a lot of the dark ambient music relaxes her, too. It effects me more like it does autumnforest–putting me in a head space of wanting to create something spooky.
autumnforest,
Happy to help!

Joooooohn…I might just have a new favorite. Klockstaplen is spellbinding and it reminds me greatly of one of my many favorite sounds; the NASA recorded sound of Jupiter. That track sounds identical to the sounds of our solar system and in the beginning of this track I thought I heard the songs of the great whales in our many oceans.
I know I’m out there but yet again another “spooky” track that sounds more meditative to me than that of horror. I also thought I heard binaural beats in the last track. I’m really glad you had permission to post some of their work because it quickly became one of my favorites. Thank you John

It’s my pleasure, Goldie. I love hearing how the same sounds can impact people in a variety of ways. I’m not sure if Kammarheit uses any natural or environmentally occurring sounds in The Starwheel, but what sounded like whales to you reminded me of lonesome moans from some other plane of existence. Several things in “The Starwheel (CC) Counter Clockwise” track reminded me a little of strange EVP-like sounds, too. It’s funny (and very cool) how we all interpret things in our own unique ways.

Some more kick ass additions to the radio. Looking forward to seeing the Halloween Radio grow to be an amazing library of dark sounds.
