Halloween Radio Updated
May 31st, 2011 by John Wolfe
I received permission from the very kind and generous Christophe of the dark ambient project, Arduinna allowing me to feature two songs from the album, “Weris” in the SoS Halloween Radio section. You’ll remember Arduinna’s Memento Mori from the recent Music to Corpse By post. The radio player now has The Raven Queen and Memento Mori (Both are fantastic songs!) in spots 14 and 15. A HUGE thanks goes out to Christophe and Arduinna. You rock!

Oh yahoo! New Music! I’m looking for some good atmospheric stuff to listen to while writing my horror novels.

Thanks, autumn. Yeah, it’s good stuff (rubbing my hands together). Hope it helps give you all those spine-tinglies you need for writing some spookiness.

I love this music but it makes me really relaxed and kind of sleepy. I don’t think that was the intended reaction.

Damian,
Hope you enjoy it.
Ethan Black,
No worries, Ethan. As long as you liked it, that’s really the only intention I have. Arduinna and Kammarheit both give me feelings of being out in a fall-like setting in nature or even in an abandoned monastery; not really scary mind you, but rather setting a mood for autumn. Personally, I’m not that big on startling, coarse music for Halloween listening — probably similar to how I don’t really like horror movies all that much either (especially the new stuff).

Yaaaaa Ethan! Thank you for sharing how relaxing the music is for you because it is for me as well. Most would tease me because haunting and spooky music puts me into a deep trance for meditation and doesn’t frighten me at all. I thought I was the only one who felt this way, next to John that is. At times I can’t listen to the Halloween radio because it relaxes me right to sleep and it’s hard to shake that.
That was most awesome that Christophe and Arduinna allowed you to feature a couple of their songs. One of the many attributes I love about your radio John is the great variety of Halloween music you display. In addition I would imagine it would be great free advertising for the artists you display so it’s a beautiful win win situation all the way around. Great find as always my friend.

I love to listen to slow creepy Halloween music and it seems to work well when setting the mood for others, but to me it isn’t “scary”, Its my happy/relaxation music. I guess you can add that to the list of “You know your obsessed with Halloween if…” list.

The Raven Queen is AWESOME! I love the way it builds slightly and then goes back down , I think it is called tempo? It does give one the feeling of falls coming. Great pick John.
Autumnforest, really a horror novel. I would love to read it when you are finished. Can you give a little info on it?

Goldie,
Thanks. I love the win-win aspect of it as well. Come September and October, it not only gives the ever growing amount of visitors some excellent music to listen to, but it also turns on a whole new audience to the artists’ work, and hopefully creates some sales for the generous folks who allow their work to be in the radio.
The Frog Queen,
Thank you, my friend, for listening. Glad you’re enjoying it.
Ethan Black,
LoL! That is a good one to add to installment 5!
ssflipo13,
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it, my friend!
In case autumnforest doesn’t see your comment, I think you can find links to her already published books on her website: http://autumnforestghosthunter.blogspot.com
