Halloween Radio
October 20th, 2009 by John Wolfe
Just found out Sirius/XM will be devoting a channel to Halloween from October 26th through the 31st (XM Ch. 120, Sirius Ch. 126). I wish they would host it all month long, but six days is better than nothing. According to their site, the first four days will feature spooky songs, sound effects and Halloween stories from their in-house radio personalities. On the 30th, the channel switches to round-the-clock sounds of horror.
This is going to come in handy during my remaining days in the shop, as well as during the yard haunt setup. The neighbors will find a brand new reason to love me this year (yeah right), as I blast XM Halloween sounds prior to the big night. Well, at least they don’t have to deal with my messy cornstalks this time.
For a schedule of Halloween radio programming and an opportunity to have your Halloween story read on the air, visit sirius.com/halloween. As I’m about to post this entry, the rain and wind have kicked up outside — looks very much like a fall day… finally!

Wow, that totally rocks!! I barely finished your posting before clicking on the link and completely falling in deep mad love with the sounds and the banner that starts up right away. I would frekin adore having that top banner as my screen saver. This is great! I’m beyond thrilled you found this because they seem to have the internet feed for those of us who don’t get XM or Sirius. This is my kind of Halloween sounds; the sounds of the earth, restless walking zombies and skeletons, the crunching of leaves under their feet, the birds or owls. This are the kind of true and honest Halloween sounds that seem so hard to find. Most sound tracks are so generic but this my dear friend……………PRICELESS, just like you
To bad they didn’t keep this up year round…..guess it’s time to put my digital recorder to use
LoL, I loved, LOVED your wicked visual of sipping your blood filled IV bag while munching on a body part…….I laughed so hard, just about woke the baby. Sounds like your having the storm we had last Tuesday, day long tremendous down pour, winds at 45mph, trees falling over, streets were flooding and I was “loving every minute of it!!!!”

That’s a start, now if they’d only do it year-long with stories, interviews, and people active in spooky fields.

Goldie,
The banner is pretty darn cool! Did you click on the skeleton? Do you have Sirius/XM at work? I know you used to have it through the satellite at your old employer. I’m definitely with you on the crunching of the leaves and related earth-type sounds. Throw in some creaking hinges, a few crows squawking and I’m happy.
I see you’ve incorporated my Lover boy saying.
… Lovin’ every minute of it! That’s how I was feeling about our rain too.
autumnforest,
I absolutely agree with you and Goldie on the year round channel. I also feel a year round paranormal cable/satellite TV channel would rock. I don’t know why they don’t create one.
