Halloween SEO

While I’m extremely appreciative of my visitors and the many ways and means in which they access SOS, often, I can’t help but have a laugh when reviewing the site stats. Since doing a redesign after Halloween ’08, I’ve improved my SEO (search engine optimization) quite a bit, however, I am always amused by several of the search terms that lead people here via the major search engines. Below are five of my favorites from this month. The search terms are in bold and appear exactly as they were originally typed. After each term, I’ve provided my own (joking) commentary. 
1.) belushi chocolate covered donuts: I was always partial to the “Cheeseburger, Cheeseburger, Cheeseburger” Belushi skit, myself.
2.) halloween songs scare grandma: Wasn’t that the working title for “Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer”, until Elmo and Patsy chucked it and went with a Christmas theme?
3.) there was this boy I knew his name was Jon Wolfe: Damn, I wish my wife would quit looking for me already. 
4.) Tim Allen on steroids: What, nobody cares about Manny Ramirez anymore?
5.) my little pony bedroom: Actually, that’s the style of my bathroom set. I find cartoon ponies to be soothing while relaxing in my bubble baths.
Interestingly enough, the John Belushi search leads visitors here several times each month. So, since people are wanting to see that skit, I’ve included it in this entry, courtesy of Hulu and NBC.

1=That was a good skit.
2=Your fairly well up on your kiddy cartoons John, I’m most impressed.
3=If she’s TRULY a good wife then she’ll NEVER STOP LOOKING for you
4=I don’t think anyone knows Manny anymore.
5=I’ve been partial to the Star Wars theme from the 70′s

I may disappoint you on my cartoon knowledge – actually, I didn’t know “Grandma” was a cartoon until a couple of years ago. I always remember the song from major radio airplay during the 80′s.
I’m sure most MLB fans are still talking about Manny’s steroid use since his suspension was just in May, but I wrote that because I find it hilarious that people are searching for Tim “The Tool Man” Taylor being on the juice.
I wish my bathroom was decorated at all. Even My Little Pony would be a big improvement over the way it currently looks.
