Halloween Tree Ornaments

December 3rd, 2008 by John Wolfe

Are you tired of stringing fancy garland and tossing icicles on the tree? Sick of hanging candy canes and angels on the old tannenbaum? Do you long for Halloween during the Christmas season? How about celebrating the holidays the All Hallow’s Eve way? That’s right, with witches and ghosts dangling from those branches of fir.

Man, I sound like one of those late night infomercials: “How much would you expect to pay for a knife like this -$200? $300? No way, act now and this special offer can be yours for three payments of $29.99.” :D Seriously, though, if you’re searching for festive, antique-looking, Halloween ornaments to decorate your tree, may I suggest Blumchen.com.

These guys carry some awesome handcrafted replicas of antique cotton ornaments from the late 1800’s. Not to mention, the witch (pictured above) has a paper mache face. That fact alone places Blumchen right up my Halloween alley. Unfortunately, the witch and several others are sold out but they’re still stocked up on a few other Halloween ornaments like this dancing scarecrow.

Blumchen.com also carries a wide variety of other antique inspired Halloween themed items in their shop.

LoL, my Mom was just asking me today since your so passionate about Halloween, if you make a point to combine Halloween decoration into Christmas decor ;-) I told her I wasn’t sure but given your love for the spooky holiday, chances are you have some form of Halloween ambiance mixed into the cold Christmas holiday too. LoL, you would be the only human I know who would decorate the green pine tree with little ghost, witches and pumpkin ornaments dripping the tree limbs with silky white spider webs. While under the tree instead of the “snow skirt”, you would have little half corpses coming out from the floor reaching out from under the tree ;-) LoL………got ya thinkin’ didn’t it………LoL, TeeHee~*~ Personally I like these ornaments you have in the photos because they “feel” more antique looking. I’ve often fancied a more aged antique Christmas tree and decorations. Come to think of it, I NEVER have been mainstream society–anything! You might have guessed that about me by now :-) Awesome findings, keep up the great work!

Glad to hear your Mom hasn’t forgotten about me. :) Tell her I said hello. You gave me two great ideas: 1) Stretching spider webs across the branches and 2) Placing groundbreaker corpses under the tree with the gifts!

I may even wrap gifts with anatomical charts, showcasing the skeletal system and the human anatomy!

Oh yeah, I know all about how outside the box you are. It’s one (of many) of your endearing traits! ;)

LoL….I just KNEW that as I casually typed that out last night, the tree decorating, that it would indeed spark an “Ah-Ha!” moment for you :-) Seems I tend to that from time to time for ya. I’m more than happy to be of help.

I wish I could send you the image I had for that tree but as I sat here and giggled, “I bet John would decorate his tree with spider webs and skeleton head ornaments with tiny deformed corpses crawling out of the tree holding small gifts!!!!”

Sure enough…LoL, I saw this message and can’t help but to grin from ear to ear. Glad you liked the idea and I’m surprised YOU didn’t think of it sooner. I wasn’t sure if you bought a tree this time of year but if you did could only imagine it being decked out in haunting gear. Plus how cool would tiny rotted corpses be!!!!! Not to mention instead of Christmas lights, you could use the pumpkin and skeleton head lights that are sold in October. LoL…..I’m getting carried away now, you could really go to town on that tree. Need any further ideas, give me a ring-a-ding.

My Mom would probably use a thick strong branch, paint it black, build a stand for it and use that as the Halloween tree. You might have guessed that’s where the start of my out of the box endearing traits began to be born ;-) Now be sure to take a picture and show it to us all online, ya hear? BTW….Mom MORE than knows of who you are, LoL, are you kidding??? Moreover, Mom ALWAYS says “Tell John I said Hi :-) ” and often asks what your up to now ;-) What’s near and dear to me, is near and dear to her. Have a deeeeeelightful day~*~

I knew I liked your Mom for more than the obvious reasons. :) She’s creative as all get out.

I always enjoy your input! Even if I don’t use something verbatim that you mention; it sparks another idea and another.

    Thanks, my friend.
