Haunted Overload
February 6th, 2009 by John Wolfe
It seems the vast majority of great professional Halloween Haunts are located in the northeastern part of the country; Haunted Overload is no exception. Eric Lowther began the haunt in his front yard and took it to professional status in only six or seven short years. It now exists on the site of Coppal House Farm in Lee, New Hampshire and has been voted one of the top thirteen haunts in the nation by Haunt World Magazine.
I’m a huge fan of outdoor haunts and hayrides (another attraction which is conspicuously absent in New Mexico). Haunted Overload has to have some of the best over sized props (an advantage to haunting in the great outdoors) I think I’ve ever seen. It’s one thing to create Halloween ghouls with average proportions and do it well; it’s another to make them thirty five feet tall and highly detailed.
Last year, while filming my Halloween Haunter’s Reality videos, the idea hit me that I should be traveling around and featuring images and video footage of many of the nation’s top haunts. The Season of Shadows Blog would serve as a perfect place to personally review each and every attraction. If I ever implement that plan (and I would love to do it), Haunted Overload would be my very first stop.

Holy Taleeto!! Is this seriously a personal front yard haunt? My goodness, I have NEVER seen such a thing before in my entire lifetime. I would expect this kind of display at Universal Studios in LA, Cali in a STUDIO….but a front yard haunt??? Wow……John, if you do ever travel to where this haunt is located, honey, bring your sleeping bag, LoL!! You would feel like at last you were HOME and I could easily see you sleeping amoung the dark and ghostly creations being totally at peace and snoring soundly because you were the happiest than you’ve ever been
Ya’ll don’t have hayrides there?? Wow, that’s odd. I’ve seen hayrides from the west coast to the east coast and even in the deep south. Odd NM doesn’t have them. Keep on truckin darlin, your finding GREAT materail and I adore how active both of your websites are now. FANTASTIC!
Much Love, as always, Goldie~*~

I’ve been stuck all morning on that website! John, this has got to be thee best find EVER of Halloween props. His website is designed with the same level of professionalism as his prop building. As much as you don’t like to travel outside of your comfort zone, I bet you have a crawling hunger to visit this location in person
Out of all of the years I’ve been browsing Halloween images online, by far, hands down, this website was tagged right away in my bookmarks and my new top favorite, aside from yours of course

Goldie,
When Eric began the haunt, it was in his yard, but it has now been taken to the professional level and is hosted at the Coppal House Farm. Haunted Overload doesn’t allow cameras to be taken in during the actual operations of the haunt, but I would love to get a behind-the-scenes tour during off hours with my video camera in hand.
We have hayrides in New Mexico, but they’re not of the professional, haunted hayride variety. I’m glad you’re enjoying Haunted Overload, Goldie. It’s an awesome looking haunt!
