Haunting Art of Eric Lacombe
March 13th, 2010 by John WolfeOnce again visiting the strange and macabre (I mean that in a good way), today’s entry combines the fascinating and surreal artwork of Eric Lacombe with another one of my favorite dark ambient musical artists–”Sephiroth.”

To see more of Eric’s amazing artwork, visit his blog: Monstror. And for info on Sephiroth (Ulf Soderberg), you can visit the Official Sephiroth Page.
I recently contacted Sephiroth and am awaiting Ulf’s response. I’d love to feature works from the album, “Draconian Poetry” in the Halloween Radio section!

Some incredible artwork there. So much detail and great use of shadows. The music is a great touch to the video and the images. You’re helping me discover new ambient music all the time!

That’s fantastic! I’m trying to develop my art again and I’m always excited to see other’s dark art. What a talent! Love the sounds too–you sure are the font of all creepy knowledge!

Really good combination of music and pictures. I’m visiting some caves this weekend and watching this is putting me in the perfect mood.

Dr. Necropolis,
Oh yeah, I agree about Eric’s work–very impressive! Glad to be of some help when it comes to the dark ambient stuff.
I was initially turned on to the genre by Pumpkinrot through rasion d’etre’s music and ever since then, I’ve been digging to find as much variety of dark ambient as possible.
autumnforest,
I’m looking forward to seeing your creations, including the cool steampunk stuff you’re working on. Glad you enjoyed Eric’s visuals and Ulf’s sounds.
frightnight,
Okay, I got you… I can see that music totally getting you in the mood for some spelunking–all dark and creepy, several hundred or even thousands of feet below the ground! Have fun and be safe.
