Haunting Poetry
December 26th, 2009 by John WolfeOnce again, I’m revisiting You Tube user, bonbichie’s haunting work. Several of his collaborative artistic endeavors have such a beautifully dark, ambient feel to them. This particular piece is concrete enough to set a spooky mood, but still abstract enough to allow the viewer to interpret its meaning in his or her own way.
Plus, he features several shots of a cornfield and if you’ve seen my 2007 and 2008 Halloween haunt images, then you already know I’m a sucker for cornstalks.

This is stunning! I got sucked in and couldn’t get out. The poem is brilliant and the video visuals are exquisite just as the voice and perfectly placed whispers are astounding and absolutely ominous. Now I know you know what I’m about to say…hmmm, do you not?
The chilling, deep and unusual tone to your voice would be perfect for many, if not all, of the dark art videos. I know you have much to take on for 2010 BUT what I would give to have a video like this done to YOUR voice. Talk about an effect, my God!!!
I would have to say this particular piece is one of my favorites so far that you found, though the recently posted dark art piece “The Haunted Coach” was really good as well. However, I found this video to be more of my liking. It was so abstract and it allowed your own imagination play the scene out as it may. I’m sure we all saw the video in a different light though slightly the same given what we are watching. I have to say it’s exceptionally done and I’m most impressed. The directory of SoS deepens once again my friend.
Moreover, on the off note, yes I do remember the big wheels well. Bro had one and we would chase each other around the apartment complex of 4 units. LoL, it was long after chasing my brother that one of the neighbors was chasing me with a broom because we kept racing past her door….LoL. Did it stop bro and I? Of course not and we just changed our direction to surprise her. Note: no harm was ever done to any of the parties involved, just exhilarating fun. Oh and remember how the seat could go back 3 notches…lol….I just remembered that. Amazing. Leave it to you John

Wow! That was really amazingly haunting and I felt like I did when I watched “The Haunting” the first time with the lines from Shirley Jackson being recited while they showed the big scary Hill House. Thanks for finding that! I’m a freak for cornstalks too! Spent a lot of childhoods hiding within the rows and listening to them “talk” in the wind. When they dry out and turned yellow and the kernels pop and become like bulbous teeth on the cobs…creepy.

Goldie,
Glad you enjoyed it! I’ve been really getting into bonbichie’s channel and all of his puppet projects recently. He has quite the creative mind.
Thanks again for your input about my voice-over “capabilities.” You’re my one, true voice supporter… LOL. I’m very much open to doing voice-over work in a pro capacity if anybody ever wants me to do it. I’ve also thought about setting my Chaos stories to video and narrating them, but I’ll have to work out what the images would be accompanying the narration.
I had forgotten all about the seat adjustment on the Big Wheel! They should seriously make Big Wheels for adults with the plastic tire and everything.
autumnforest,
You’re getting me lonesome for seeing corn growing again!
