Jack-O-Lantern 12

March 16th, 2009 by John Wolfe

Found a really cool technique on You Tube for making origami jack-o-lanterns. Big thanks to Seven2One for posting the Halloween how-to. It took about thirty minutes to get the folds just right on my practice jack-o-lantern. The second one (pictured) went a lot faster. Normally, I venture further into the spooky when I’m in full Halloween prep mode. But I love this little guy so much – I may make a whole patch (come October) for the dining room table.

This one sparked a question in my mind… Are you going to save every single jack-o-lantern in a shrine of some sort? That would be amazing. Then, your 100th jack-o-lantern of something could be a picture of that shrine.

Plus, for the ones made from food, you could just print the picture and put it up. Or, you could photoshop all the pictures. Just making suggestions…

Those are great ideas! I appreciate the suggestions. I haven’t been keeping all the jack-o-lanterns, but I’m definitely saving the photos offline as well as on.

However, I’m keeping my origami guy. He keeps an eye on me on the desk. :D

A blogger friend (from Paranormal Casebook – the link is in the sidebar) sent me an email today. She’s already sort of doing what you suggested. She took the first twelve and compiled them into a collage of sorts. It’s going to appear in her blog tomorrow along with some great tongue-in-cheek humor about the Jack-O-Lantern a Day project.

He’s so cute! I like the collage idea. You could always use to pics to make a calendar and cherish the memories all year long. :)

    Thanks, Andrea. I appreciate it.

A mini-calendar for my desk would be perfect!

Thanks, man. It’s great to hear from you. Glad you like it. I should have sent you an email. I wasn’t sure if you had been visiting the site or not. Steve of Halloween Addict mentioned you had featured the Jack-O-Lantern a Day project at your blog. I really want to thank you for that!

Yes, I, too, have a small jcak-o-lantern with a witch’s hat on. The hat comes off, and inside him, I keep my sanity.
