Jack-O-Lantern 13
March 17th, 2009 by John Wolfe
I was very impressed at how easy it was carving the honeydew for today’s jack-o-lantern. While I’ve eaten honeydew many times, I’ve never sliced a face into one. There’s minimal slime and seeds inside, and the knife went through it like hot butter – so much easier than carving a pumpkin. With that being said, I still don’t see honeydew sitting in my yard haunt’s graveyard come Halloween night.

Well Jack, I mean John – if you’re planning on changing Halloween then I guess you’ll have to be prepared for the eats that go along with it. Ya know, pumpkins and pumpkin pie – honeydew and….well, you’ll see.
Honeydew
Do you want to snuff the pumpkin Jack, I mean John. Then again, it was you who said, “This Halloween was just like last year, and the year before that and the year before that” sigh
And, when you find you have absolutely nothing to do Jack, I mean John, and assuming you’ve warn out your CD, here’s a great time killer.

Eileen,
I have to thank you for those links. I enjoyed the honeydew recipes, but I really was happy to see you’ve embedded “The Nightmare Before Christmas.” I’ve never seen that movie all the way through. In fact, I barely saw a portion of it for the first time three months ago. However, all your references to the film weren’t lost on me.
I’ll be fixing some popcorn and curling up to Paranormal Casebook as I catch up on the parts I’ve missed.

Kewl. Well, I just happen to have second best to that set of videos so make that a double order of popcorn since it’s a double feature.

JOHN!! This turned out great! Wow! I would have to say that combined with the design, the look, the feel, the glow, the kick ass color of this photo, this by far is my favorite Jack of the day so far!!!!
He’s sooooooooo cute! GREAT face job on him, perfect! That’s one of the best faces I’ve seen you do yet, truly outstanding. I thought using melons would be nice and easy to cut through and easy to gut out but I love the glow of this honeydew! Yum!

Eileen,
Looking forward to the Halloween Tree as well!
Goldie,
Glad you like it! All my faces combine similar elements, but the shape of the melon lent itself well to creating a slightly different look. I’ve eaten part of the honeydew. The rest is still in the frig. I think I’ll eat the rest tonight. Thanks again!
