Mad Monster Party
August 1st, 2009 by John WolfeBeing a child of the 70′s and 80′s, it’s amazing to think I was totally oblivious to the movie “Mad Monster Party”, until, oh, about three hours ago. 
Growing up, I can easily recall all the stop-motion (animagic), animated Christmas classics, but never once did I see a re-airing of the 1967 Rankin-Bass Halloween inspired film. It’s a shame, because I know I would have eaten it up with a spoon! A special edition release of Mad Monster Party will be available with bonus features on September 8th.

I don’t really recall singing this tune as much as my brother and I sang, “The Monster Mash.” That was played often on our record player….lol…”what’s that?”
Off note: Not sure why this is but I was going over some audio of T and B from June in the house (recorder on mantle of course
and heard T react to “something” in front of her!!! I was chasing T and B at the far end of their home and T ran down the hallway and turned the corner into the family room/kitchen area. The MOMENT she turned the corner she said out loud and in surprising voice, “WOAH…..Hi!!!” To which two clicks followed QUICKLY. LoL…….I mean wow, it must have been something big and I find two things interesting here:
1-She saw something but didn’t say anything to me about it, which she knew she could because we often spoke about spirits.
2-I’ve listened to that audio about 50 times now cause I’m missing them so bad (it’s about 30 minutes long) that only upon today listening to it, did I actually hear tons of clicks AND the 3 different voices that were heard….even while we were in the living room!!!!!
I know the EVP lover that you are so I thought you would appreciate me sharing that with you……..I wish you could hear her reaction!!! All my best, as always, Goldie~*~

Record player? Yeah, that’s about like me and the old 8-Track. It doesn’t surprise me at all about her experience, considering how sensitive kids are, up until a certain point anyway. After age five or six, the world has already gotten too “heavy” on them and most seem to lose that connection to the metaphysical. It’s cool that there were clicks present – so, at least that gave you an indication of what was around, despite the fact the recording is no longer fresh from the event. Thanks for sharing.

I know, huh. I’m not sure if we were in a market where it wasn’t being re-played or what the deal was, but I have no memory of the movie. Glad you have it on VHS. I always enjoy watching video tapes I recorded from 80′s television. The other day I found one from about ’89 or ’90 with an episode of “The Amazing Teddy Z” (or something like that) that starred John Cryer.

My previous two times recording at the new location have been quiet, like dead quiet. Strange huh given how possessive the spirit was upon the very first time recording. For someone who’s “staked claim” to that location, she sure has been quiet since then. Perhaps…..”she’s” figuring out who I am, sensing my energy and now knows I am the gentle spirit I told her I was. There’s still an odd feeling in that “section” of the place but I felt it was important for me to NOT show her any fear upon what she said but rather understanding and compassion. Seems to have thrown her for a looper
Yeah, if T were mine, she would have been encouraged to share outloud when she saw energy, colors or spirits. Just like B when she would lay on her back and “follow something” around the room with only her eyes. She would get real quiet to when this was happening. LoL, can you imagine that, a child of yours telling you every 10 minutes, “Daddy, there’s a pretty blue energy/spirit behind you!!!” LoL, you would suddenly realize (as if you don’t now!) just how full your house IS of visiting spirits. Actually sounds like fun but I agree with you whole heartedly about your thoughts regarding children and by what age society has gotten to them, sadly.

Based on the recent inactivity, it would be interesting to try an EMF detector in the house and see if the levels are pretty nonexistent. Then, if activity does show up again via future EVP recordings, sweep the place to check for an increase in electromagnetic spikes. Although, during some of my recordings, when I’ve had EVP’s, there has been no fluctuation in the K-II meter. After Halloween, I’m really wanting to start working heavily with the K-II and see if I can actually get any readings with it. As of now, I’ve yet to have any hits to date.

Funny you mention the K-II meter because after browsing through your online Halloween store, I came close to ordering one myself. Just out of pure curiosity because I can think of a few “hot spots” where paranormal activity is often often happening and I would enjoy seeing the meter go off when something was near instead of relying on my EVP recording and finding out once I got home. Wouldn’t it be great to “talk” one on one with a spirit like in that episode of Ghost Hunters!!! The spirits must be thankful we finally reached the technology age and have all these tools to hear and see them with.
Oh, I caught an interesting photo John at “my spot” over the weekend. Usually I have orb activity that pops up in some frames right? This time I noticed an odd shaped LIGHT in the trees and when I zoomed in on it…..it appears to have a head, two arms and a torso of some kind holding a blue X in the right hand. I’m dying to send you the photo but I know how you are about those sorts of things. I think you would find this one highly interesting though John!!! Out of the year I’ve been taking photos there, NEVER have I seen anything like this…………SD even saw it and was stumped, of course only to have a “rational” idea of what it could be…..lol, always!
P.S.–I MISS your EVP videos big time!

Thanks for checking out the store. There’s been a lot of interest in it so far. It’s extremely handy because it’s not easy to find Halloween items on Amazon, yet the contradiction is they have a huge collection. The things is, you have to hunt and peck to locate what you’re looking for, but this way, a large percentage is concentrated all in one place.
I’m curious, if you do pick up a K-II, as to what type of responses you’ll receive. I’m not sure if an energy has to have a specific means or “talent” for manipulating the device or not. Either the spirits we’ve interacted with do not have that capability or have chosen intentionally to not interact with it.
I would love to see the photo. I still think a photo sharing site would be a great option for your images.
