Mitchell Cemetery Haunt
May 30th, 2010 by John WolfeThough I’ve been checking out the home haunt/Halloween side of the ‘net since ’97, and SOS has been unofficially involved in that scene since 2007 (I’m still waiting on the arrival of my secret decoder ring and Halloween Haunters Union Card to make it official… damn, the mail’s slow.
), I’m always amazed at how many cool haunt gems I’ve yet to discover.
The Mitchell Cemetery is one such gem–an elaborate haunt, full of awesome, homemade props and store-bought items; Mr. and Mrs. Mitchell do Halloween proud!

On another note, I’ve gotten a lot busier recently and am having a hard time squeezing in prop work. As much as I hate the idea of cutting back on my blogging frequency, I’m going to have to do it to spend some quality time with the Angel of Death.
So, I’ll probably average three to four posts a week from this point forward, right up until Halloween. But, I promise many of those posts will be updates on my prop as well as the Halloween Garden. I’m also working towards getting the shop’s webcam up and running again over the summer, and of course, it will definitely be running for Halloween night.

John; you are a busy boy! I love the video–you know they’re doing it right when you just wish you could jump right into it! I love cemeteries and hauntings and dusty old places, creaking and cobwebs. What an artistic eye to do all that. It’s a world I’d like to live in every day, honestly. I totally get the blogging thing. In fact, I’m going to write my blogs for October ahead of time and schedule them to go on daily so I don’t have to write during that month except to respond to comments. We’ll just look forward to your entries more cause you’ll no doubt have a lot to report. Give the Angel a pat for me. Wish I could meet him in person!

Wow. Looked amazing. Awesome video – put together very well. Imagine having the scenery of the house/yard at the very end of the video in your yard. That would be incredible.

Definitely a classy haunt, one of my favorites! If you didn’t know, they have a fantastic book out, with another on the way! Check it out!

I Love that eerie use of that color of blue. I think it adds so much to the atmosphere to the haunt, or a deep red color of illumination like you do for your yard haunts.
I knew you had a tremendous amount of work/projects building up on your plate and with the warmer/hotter days upon us, it’s reminded us all that Halloween is just a few more months away. Therefore I would imagine that the Angel of Death would absolutely be on your mind in addition to tending to your flourishing garden. Please know dear friend that you have my total support in everything you do and even if you could only blog once a week, I’ll be right by your side with my deepest encouragement for you and SOS. My intentions are always STRONG with you, SOS and your garden. Have a beautiful week sweetie.

autumnforest,
I fell in love with the old seance room, spirit board, and moving planchette, too! That’s a great idea pertaining to your October entries. Thanks for the support about my blogging! I’ll have a date with the Angel tomorrow, once I get all the Transylvania CDs ready to go out, so I’ll be sure to give him your regards.
Dr. Necropolis,
Thanks, man, I appreciate you watching and commenting.
ssflipo13,
I love Haunted Overload! I was introduced a couple of years ago to Eric’s pro haunt through John over at Killer Pumpkins. Thanks, ssflipo13, I hope to be back at work on the Angel and have an update soon.
Damian the HalloweeNut,
Thanks, I saw they had a preview of their book through one of their YT vids–it looks really cool!
Goldie,
Absolutely! Lighting makes a huge difference, and I’m still barely getting the hang of “proper” light placement myself. Thanks so much for your support and the positive intentions! Speaking of the garden, I should have a vid update posted either today or tomorrow.
