More Ghosts, More Shakes

October 3rd, 2009 by John Wolfe

Ghosthunting and Milkshakes is back with their third installment. This time around, the team checks out reports of a haunted bridge in Hutto, Texas. Jake’s Bridge is purported to be the site of a tragic set of events in which a man named “Jake” took the life of his family and then took his own. The crew does have a couple of experiences, including their vehicle seemingly being pushed by an unknown force.

I’m not sure what to make of the whole car experience, but I tend to lean toward David’s explanations. I’d like to know what you guys think.

I know one thing, I’ll be humming that wacky intro tune all day long again! It’s catchy. :) For more info and past Ghosthunting and Milkshakes installments, check out Haunted Report.

Darn it! I always hit a post that has goodies in it when I’m hungry for goodies. No ice cream or anything yummy in my refrigerator.

I spit in that cup up there so don’t expect to eat it now. lol

That’s cute. Admittedly, that stupid song is now an ear-worm for me. It wasn’t clear on the film…but I recall there was a newer bridge and then the older one where the man killed his family. Were they sitting on the older bridge? It’s entirely possible that the bridge bows and expands or buckles as the bridge next to it has traffic. I’ve seen that in West VA where they build a new bridge next to the old one. Bridges by nature have a tendency to flex, so that alone could move a car. I’d be more impressed if they went to another bridge with similar conditions and tried it and it didn’t move. Interesting story. Makes you wonder if people invented the story to explain the phenomenon or they tried the phenomenon because they’d heard of the tragic story. Cool video. You find some neat stuff. Now, I want a milkshake!

Oooooooo, Fry’s Electronic’s has the best milk shakes???? Bye–See ya later dude, I’ve got to run to our local Fry’s and pick one up.

As for the video, well, cool to watch…as always. The “thing” blowing in the wind sounded VERY MUCH like a plastic bag caught on a branch. I’ve never known animals to make that much sound but a bag caught in strong wind would. As for the car, ya know……..I’m inclined to say someone was pushing the car, as in a human. They didn’t start filming the back end of the car until AFTER it got rolling. I think I would be more of a believer if they were filming the back end and not the tire before the car got rolling.

As you always say John, without actually being there in real time it’s really hard to say “YES that was a ghost pushing the car” or making that sound. Plus when very little is shown of the area as the sound is happening, I’m always suspicious about it. LoL, odd to hear me be the skeptic but after having an interests in this for quite some time, and seeing some really good editing jobs being done to LOOK like a ghost, I’m a bit more picky now about the set up of the area and what is being filmed and what IS NOT being filmed.

Nonetheless, it was fun to watch. Now if you’ll excuse me, I must make a run up to Fry’s and try out this milkshake before it’s webcam time ;-)

    Atrueoriginal,

No worries there, that shake is all yours now! :)

    autumnforest,

That’s a great point. I was assuming there was some issue with the bridge being uneven, but maybe you’re right about the adjacent bridge causing the effect.

That’s why I place those shakes in the post, to make you guys hungry! ;)

    Goldie,

It’s definitely good to be skeptical and look for alternative explanations. If I hadn’t gotten to know David a little through Twitter, then I might say someone had pushed the car, but I believe he’s legit on these videos — still, I don’t think the car’s movement was paranormal. Looks like I did the same thing to you as I did to autumnforest and Atrueoriginal regarding the milkshake craving.

There’s not a lot of photos online for ghost milkshakes, so I’ll probably have to start making my own for future posts promoting GH & M.
