Scare Prank
July 5th, 2009 by John WolfeThe prank featured in this video takes me back to my childhood, as my grandfather and uncle could always be counted on for scaring the hell out of me. I can recall standing on the porch before sunup and having blankets dropped off the roof onto my head; being told to retrieve items from a dark bedroom (I was too little to reach the light switch), only to be startled half-to-death once inside the room; watching an ominous figure (my grandfather) creep through the yard, holding a lantern, while blowing on a creepy, wild call, etc., all before the age of five!
Admittedly, I looked forward to our visits with the family because a part of me couldn’t wait to see what they were going to scare me with next. Based on my childhood (and my love of Halloween), it’s probably a good thing I don’t have kids, since they would undoubtedly encounter the type of parenting found in this clip. In the video, two brothers are huddled together after watching a horror movie, meanwhile, their dad is preparing to take full advantage of the situation.

Sounds like life in my household. I like to do fake wounds, so in October at any given time, hubby can come home and find me with a knife sticking in a wound on my arm and blood spilling out as I’m cutting carrots. He hates that! I once took my friend to the mall around Halloween time and we got out of the car and I said, “Oh darn, I forgot my bag I wanted to return. Can you go get it?” I gave her the keys, she went back to the car and opened the trunk to find a severed head I made (quite real looking). She never let me forget that one. I love that about Halloween time. You can be spooky. Any other time of the year you do that, you’re considered a dork.

LOL…LOL….”what’s wrong with you!!!!!” Classic
John, damn right it’s a good thing you don’t have kids cause you would pull all sorts of scary pranks on them that would haunt them for life. OR, they would team up with grandpa and get you back 10X worse…….which I know would be a blast in a half for you

autumnforest,
Wow, that reminds me, I think there’s a video on You Tube where you can learn how to make fake fingers. The video demonstrates how to use them during a cutting board session to scare someone. Your pranks remind me of the classic Roseanne Halloween episodes where they were always doing the gore scares. Please keep me updated on your plans for this year.
Goldie,
Oh, man, I could only imagine how bad I’d get it if I had kids and they learned all about what I did to my uncle and grandfather over the years! The creative gene in my family gets stronger from one generation to the next where practical jokes are concerned.
That’s my new favorite line, “What’s wrong with you!” Don’t you know his dad was halfway upset because he caused himself more work by having to fix the mini-blinds.
