ScareFactory’s 2011 Halloween Lineup
May 2nd, 2011 by John WolfeWith the Transworld Haunt Show wrapping up a few weeks ago, YT is now jam-packed with vids showcasing what the industry has in store for the 2011 Halloween season. And while there’s a ton of awesomeness out there in the world of professional prop building, I always find myself going back to ScareFactory’s amazing work time and again. These are the same guys who created the animated Angel of Death prop, which inspired me to make my own static version last Halloween.
As I watched their vids and checked out their site, it’s obvious ScareFactory worked liked fiends to prepare for 2011. Their catalog appears to be loaded with more props making a debut this year than ever before.
This first vid is a quick teaser of some of their best of 2011… makes me wanna get out in the shop and get to work (even with stitches in my gut).
Up next is a more detailed vid shot in the “Dark Zone” as it’s called at Transworld. Gotta love the oversized prop with the little corpses riding his back! SF is calling him “The Necromancer.”

pam morris,
ScareFactory should create a wishlist for their site. I’m sure there would be lots of people using that feature!
Matt C.,
LOL! Uh-oh. Guess we were on the same wavelength. No worries if you still want to post it now. I promise not to hold it against you.

Oh My God! If my haunted house experience in 1982 looked anything like this, I’m certain I would have been completely terrified of anything Halloween. However though my h.h walk through damn near put me in the hospital that year, I am a hard core lover of Halloween and making that feeling last all year long. Thankfully I’m able to live out the latter part on our beloved SeasonofShadows. But boy oh boy, I sure do wish I could go to something like that here or better yet perhaps join a best friend in such a splendid experience
Ahhh a girl can dream can’t she? I’m a sucker for the videos of anything of Transworld Haunt Show!
Lastly I hope your continued strong recovery is making life much easier than it was prior to the surgery. I know first hand (of sorts) what all you were going through and it pained me daily to see you suffer like that. How you are now is like apples and oranges to how you were feeling back then and for this I’m so happy for you. Thankfully your rather intuitive when it comes to your body and it’s needs and when you need to “re-train” your body for a new way of life, you do so with such ease and remarkable discipline. As we age, for all sorts of reason and myself included, if we are in tune with our body then we not only notice the changes taking place but alter our life style to best suit this new change. My lower back still throws me for loops as it’s rather unpredictable when it wants to act up real bad. LoL…sure does make me think back to how quickly I could move and with such ease when I was younger. LoL…oh no, I’ve said it!!! LoL…mama always warned me
I’m most pleased your doing so wonderful my friend. Keep up the great work!

Goldie,
Get this – ScareFactory even makes an entire haunted house “kit.” Based on what I found while looking around their site yesterday, they will outfit everything for a commercial location, apparently even the interior walls. Imagine an entire haunt built around ScareFactory props! I’m amazed you guys don’t have a show like Transworld, especially in your neck of the woods. It’s no surprise we don’t have shows like these in New Mexico. Our population is just too small, but I’m surprised you all don’t have one or two big ones nearby. It would be really cool if those of us who talk here at SoS could all meet up at Transworld too. That would be fun. Sort of a substitute for not being able to host a block party haunt together on Halloween.
Thanks for your well wishes about my recovery. I sure appreciate it. I’m doing great. Feeling really good and the diet is coming together nicely again.
I hope your back’s not bothering you right now, but if so — I hope it feels much better soon.

Scare Factory’s work is really top notch! I’ve been watching folks’s videos of Transworld from this year and so much of the work produces an “Ew, that’s not spooky, that’s just gross” response in me that I really appreciate the great work of SF all the more! Did you see SF’s costume of the grandfather clock? It’s fabulous! Nothing gross about it- just dang creepy and made me slap my forehead and think “Now, why didn’t I think of that!?!” I love seeing what inspires you- thank you so much for sharing it!

Camile,
I hear that. I’m the same way about gory props. While I can respect and appreciate the workmanship, I don’t care for anything gory. I’d much rather see creepy looking zombies and skeleton-themed prop work. I did see the grandfather clock, but the video or two I watched didn’t show what it did. I’ll have to go back and find another that shows it in action.
Thank you for watching and for sharing what inspires you, too.

ssflipo13,
There’s nothing wrong with having your house look like the ScareFactory catalog year round, although your wife may not appreciate it too much.
