Skeleton Marionette Puppet

August 5th, 2009 by John Wolfe

Truth be told, I don’t get out as often as I should, but I still feel qualified in saying I’ve never seen anyone who could bring pieces of plastic, wood, and strings to life in a manner even remotely close to this gentleman. Not only did his talent catch my eye, but the fact he uses a skeleton marionette for a puppet didn’t hurt either. The look and style of the skeleton reminds me of some Day of the Dead decor. At one point, towards the end of the video, the skeleton humorously reacts to what’s (not) being dropped into the tip container. If you look closely, you’ll notice there were only a few coins left behind. It’s a shame, because the amount of creativity and hours of practice, just to present such a street performance, is worth far more.

Tips aside, it’s a GREAT video and I guarantee, if you’re feeling down, there’s nothing like a singing and dancing skeleton to put a smile on your face.

I saw this video a while back. Cute huh? I love what he’s able to do with the skeleton and those kind of puppets are not easy to work. Of course, practice makes perfect, as with anything in life :-)

Oh, I forgot to toss in some bucks at the end……love the little guys reaction to only coins on his pillow.

He’s wickedly talented! If I were an onlooker, there definitely would have been some paper money left behind.

I’ll keep an eye out, Bill. I know you’re looking for a skeleton that’s ready to go as a puppet, but just in case you have to resort to making your own — Walmart has plastic skeletons about this size right now. All the joints move, including the jaw.
