Spooky Short: The Ten Steps
June 4th, 2010 by John WolfeLeft at home to babysit her little brother, a young girl encounters something down in the family’s cellar. “The Ten Steps” features the kind of spookiness I enjoy in a film: suspenseful twists that mess with your mind a little.

Holy Crap!!! I could absolutely NOT concentrate on what I was cooking by a long shot!! Seeeee, now THAT’S how horror movies should be made these days; NO blood and gore but good old fashioned fright
Watching the girl open the cellar door and begin her journey down, froze my hands in the spot they were in and this video just sucked me in like some galactic worm hole! Where I work, I’m surrounded by the original homes built in the late 1800′s and early 1900′s and it was most common to have a basement with long spooky steps like that. The few times I’ve had to walk down under the homes, I ALWAYS had an uneasy feeling inside of me….and this was during the day! I might send this to MD, I think it would spook him to the bone
Nice find my friend.
Btw, remember me sharing with you how rarely we have big spiders here where I live? Guess what I found INSIDE my window when I got home today…one of the largest, hairy-est black spiders I’ve ever seen around here. I actually let out a little scream when I saw it, that’s how big it was. I just HAD to mention it………….I wish winning the lotto worked that easy

Creepy! I like it. I wish we could get the BBC here. So much good stuff.

Goldie,
I haven’t been in a good old fashioned, scary basement in years! Basement’s and cellars are pretty uncommon in central New Mexico, but I did get to see my share when we lived in the South. Does MD have a basement in his place? I’m already cracking up thinking about what his reaction might be to “The Ten Steps.”
Did you ever find that spider? I still have my “pet” vinegaroon running around on the patio each night. It takes a mean, squared off stance with me as I approach it, but I don’t mess with it. I leave it alone and it usually scurries off into the sand. I’ll ship lotto money your way, if you’ll by some tickets using those spider-appearing intentions as the method for picking numbers!
autumnforest,
Cool! I’m always happy to hear something I found made you unsettled or goosebumpy.
Ethan,
Awesome! Thanks, Ethan. I hear you about the BBC, I’ve found a lot of good BBC stuff on YT.

LoL, LoL, that comment back was priceless John. I almost laughed just as hard as I did a moment ago watching one of N’s new videos. I’m embarrassed to say just how hard I laughed at the video, tears were in my eyes.
NO, never found the spider and he wasn’t in the window sill so I’m hoping he found his way OUT of my home. As hot as it got in here last night, I just had to sleep with my windows closed. You know how much I can’t stand doing that. Oh and have I got some healthy compost mixtures for you my friend. I’ll let ya know when I send them because you’ll need to get to the PO Box quickly to retrieve the package. It’s warming up to the 90′s today but it IS June
Still trying to find the “camel” video for MD

Get this–we’re supposed to hit 100 degrees today and tomorrow and I still don’t have the A/C running!
Guess I better get it hooked up, huh? I know MD will love seeing Borat at his finest.
Thanks for the package. I look forward to adding it to my compost heap. I must be turning into a gardening nut when I even look forward to building my compost pile–better to add it to my pile, however, than to a landfill.
